I fucking doubt it at this rate.

Well just for the record, I haven't seen them win in years Frankie ! How do you manage to stay so optimistic, wished I could. I'll be happy with a draw the way things are going Frankie baby !

Pretty sure he has a reset button wiping his brain every week. :)

Is the German market in Birmingham worth adding to my 'Things To Do ' list while I'm over there. Never been before, heard it gets really packed though. Anyone been yet this year, or anyone planning to go?

Can be - depends if its a proper 'German Market' or just a pastiche of the genre.

The one in Salisbury is good, but there's stuff coming in from the continent to make it a 'different' event from the usual. No doubt those living closer than me can advise what the Birmingham one is like.

It's ok. I've only really sampled it at night though so my main focus was the beer and the sausages. It can get rammed and you have to pay a deposit for the glass as well as a drink so a round of drinks can be pretty pricey.

I'll be going this year on Dec 13th. Meeting up with my Uni mates for the first time in 3 years so really looking forward to it.

Nope - it really, really isn't. I can't stand the Christmas market.

It's massively overcrowded. It's cold. It's a fucking rip off. It's normally packed with people who don't normally get on but have been frogmarched there by fellow colleagues 'as it's Christmas'. The beer is shit, it's overpriced, you have to pay a deposit for your glass, the tat they sell is the sort of stuff that looks lovely in the setting on the market stall but once you get it home it's just tat that doesn't go with anything.

I will accept some of the food is pretty good though.

Brum is fine, but why bother standing around in the freezing cold drinking shit, vastly overpriced lager with people smoking around you when there are some awesome pubs not a 2 minute walk away which have a roof and heating?

My advice - go to Brum, grab a bite to eat at the market and then find a decent pub and get warm again and get the hell out of there.

That's a pretty accurate assessment from Langers. Many a time I've been at the German market not being able to feel my feet and longing to be sitting in a warm pub!
