No surprise at all about Cutrone, he'll head off on another shit loan where he scores 2 in 17 or whatever then he won't be our problem. He was never ever going to feature for us again. He had his chance for a glorious return 18 months ago and didn't want it. Nor is he remotely good enough.

The issue with Jordao is that his injuries mean that he hasn't developed at all since we bought him.

The bigger one (rather than players who have barely featured for us in years) is Fabio not travelling. So he's almost certainly off, be it Anderlecht or elsewhere.

Now we obviously do need to replace him. As stingy as Lage was with his gametime, he still played enough that you can't just let him go and forget about it. We've tried playing the likes of Neto, Adama and Podence up top before and it generally doesn't work, they aren't strikers.

I can only hope it’s salary related rather than thinking he’s already made it so wants an out.

If we tie him to a long contract that’s only on his current salary (which I assume isn’t £80k and is more £35k) then he will feel he has less bargaining power to negotiate a new one if he does well and still has loads of years left.

Does seem strange to need to tie him down for 5 years though. Could help for amortisation on the fee though.

Marques needs a good loan now. I’m a big fan but he needs games. Forgive me but the way MK Dons set up these days would suit him as the centre of a back three.
