****POLL NOW IN OP****Who do you want next?

I'm just going to concentrate on this bit and demand he does it again

"Overall, in his first 38 league games across both seasons, he oversaw 36 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat. Ridiculously impressive."

Yeah. Best to stop reading there I think.

This bit made me smile:
"couldn't find solutions"

I'll wait for him to be appointed before offering much of a view, but if he's being brought in to get the best out of kids, they have to be there in the first place. Fabio doesn't look unready for PL football because of who the manager is. 442 would need major surgery to not be taken apart week after week. New F, at least 1 mobile CM and dominant CH plus another winger and that's before depth

I maintain that whoever the manager, the gaps in the squad are pretty obvious.

Lage is extremely underwhelming though.

So, does it sound like it will be Bruno Lage then?

I’ll support Lage as I do with every manager we have.
Every appointment is a risk but some are far more risky than others. This one would fall into the very risky category.
Won’t be at all surprised if Fosun are forced to rethink again come November.

It will be either very very good or very very bad. It won’t be dull.
I completely agree.

It's a very risky move though. If we keep on the Portuguese trend, then a lesser risk might be taking someone like Paulo Fonseca. Luis Castro would also be a better option than both, but I think he's not even in the running anyway.

Depends what you mean by support.

Am I going to turn up to every home game with a "Bruno Out" banner and boo him mercilessly for 90 minutes? No.

Am I going to voice my opinion on here and elsewhere if I think it's a stupid idea? Yes.

"Lage's success stemmed from Benfica's attacking prowess, but they grew more conservative in certain high-profile games, and far less fluid in attack, and that was a recipe for disaster.

Tactically, he perhaps showed an element of naïvety, and couldn't find solutions when things started going wrong. He was pretty rigid with his formation and style, and it seemed the task of turning things around was too great for him."

Frying pan > fire, springs to mind there.

Yep that’s pretty much it, I’m openly admit on here I think it’s at best a sideways step.

The attitude that we’ll be still to good to go down next season is very nieve from some on here.

I think we probably would go down if we hired Lage, same as it was pretty obvious within a couple of games that Saunders was hopelessly out of his depth and even without taking charge of a game, we'd basically given up by handing Terry Connor the keys (tbf no-one was keeping us up).

To be frank, it will depend more on the board to sign the right players.

There’s a pretty good squad already in place. If a manager is struggling with this squad they shouldn’t be manager.

It shouldn’t be about being in a worse position than now but a far better one given the same staff.

I don’t think Lage is that man in much the same way I don’t think Zenga or Saunders were either.
