O'Neil aka GONe

If GON thought our defence was as paper thin as it's been shown to be then he was in the best position to demand funds to improve it - who else is responsible on the training side?

The 'dealt a bad hand' is just total bullshit. He's either overestimated the squad capability or his own ability to coach its deficiency.
I think this is unfair, as are all the comments about not being dealt a bad hand. Ignore GON for a moment and look at the end of the last transfer window thread. Common themes are:
It's a joke we don't have any true left back cover,
We are a quality, commanding centre half short
Opinions on Johnstone ranged from a marginal upgrade to worse than Sa.
Andre was a signing for financial not football reasons

How has that played out?
Next week we need Toti to play both left back and centre half
We don't have a fit PL quality centre half at the club and are playing Semedo as one despite him being bullied off the ball when he's been put there in the past
Neither Sa and Johnstone are fit for purpose
Andre looks lost and frequently gets bullied

Outside of those mentioned above our Summer recruitment consisted of 2 kids, one of which was only fit enough to make the bench yesterday, the other is behind where they expected, hence trying to extend Semedo
A centre forward who I like
2 young wingers, who if they are ever going to be PL players aren't now.

That's shocking recruitment and the definition of a bad hand when he was very vocal on wanting a centre half and they failed to provide the upgrade he wanted from Sa. A stronger manager would have got them, but he's in place for a reason.

I'd have sacked GON after Villa. There are countless reasons why he's not fit to be our head coach, a good one would have coached around those deficiencies and had us lower mid table, however that recruitment would leave anyone with one hand tied behind his back.

I'm at the stage where I'd welcome anyone as a replacement tomorrow. Clearly anyone of note won't come so we're down to the scrapings. No idea what kind of coach Robins is but he's out of work and probably would come cheap.
I just had a thought , then was nearly sick in my porridge, even Cooper is starting to look a better option🤮

Starting to think our January transfer budget is pretty much the same as the cost to bin GO and his crew.

So it's a new coach or signings. Not both.

If I was an out of work manager I would be interested. I would look for a 2 year deal with a stay up bonus or getting another year automatically added if I did stay up. Worse case you get fired and get 2 years pay, or stay up and get the reward of that and one of only 20 Prem manager jobs.

If we could get a half decent coach, that would be a no brainer, unfortunately no decent coach would entertain us.
I'm starting to think Fosun have already accepted that barring a miracle we are going down. If so might they flog off the silver while they still have some value in January? I'm talking Cunha, Gomes, RAN

This misconception that RAN is a top player that will command a decent fee, needs to be put into context……

He looked ok for a few games last season, a few clubs were put on alert, and it went to his head. He’s not been anywhere near since.

Think Podence without the goals - moments of magic that are few and far between and goes missing for large parts of every game.

Yesterdays antics probably cost us £5 million alone.

Have tried to get a new member to replace him but they refuse to post under the restrictions Jeff Vis has put in place.
Also, we believe Wolftone has huge potential as a poster on a forum and think if we let him go, he will simply go to a new place and that potential will be realised and we will look like twats.
Bad news @Wolftone ...

Can see him being at Norwich in the near future

I think he got out just in time reputation wise, his post match interviews yesterday I think were calculated to force their hand. He's played the media well and controlled the narrative. Bizarrely whereas Sheff Wed didn't employ him the Summer before last he'll probably get a similar opportunity now.

Yeah a decent sized championship club in mid table is where he’ll end up.
Very good chance we’ll face him next season.
