O'Neil aka GONe

About as much chance as us getting Pep. We aren't paying off O'Neil and then paying another club for their manager.
 
We’re in the position where two very competent managers are without a club but that shouldn’t rule out looking at alternatives. Neither Moyes nor Potter are likely to be too keen on the budget available in January as both will see what we all can, namely we need a decent CH. Without one anyone will struggle to keep us up but someone like Corberan may be prepared to give it a go, whereas Moyes and Potter almost certainly will get offers they will find more attractive.

If he had a “Championship Cunha” would Albion score more? We all know we’ll almost certainly score less under a new manager but no reason to believe goals will completely dry up.

The reason I believe it is that with chaos GON ball we get lots of players into the box at a level I've never seen from a Premier League Wolves side, a more reserved manager would see our chance creation drop for this very reason, but we'd concede less too.

We need a manager who will tell his players to lump it out wide...cross...Larsen....goal (sometimes)

Undoubtedly we’ll score less whoever is our next manager but if Cunha stays fit I think we’ll still score enough. The biggest issue is whether a defensive minded coach can stop enough at the other end, given we have four CHs who I doubt anyone else in the PL would want in their squad.
 
I don't think we'll necessarily score less. We under utilise Larsen, if we used him properly that could compensate for some of our centre midfielders being caught out of position as happens at the moment. There's no reason a good manager couldn't set us up in a 4231 formation without being wide open all the time. We will concede whoever is manager, because our centre halves and goalkeepers aren't very good, but again a good manager will make the opposition work for it more.
 
GON up for Barclays Manager of the Month for November.
That's fucked it for sacking him even if he doesn't win?

What does using Larsen properly look like?
 
Use him to hold the ball up /provide flicks when we have defensive possession rather than asking players to pass the ball out who can't. We were doing this, but have regressed back again.
Cross the ball for him to get on the end of things, which ironically we did more of on Wednesday, but deliveries like Bellegarde played into him on Saturday have been few and far between

You win two games of football in fuck knows how long and that makes for a nomination for Manager of the Month. It's a mockery in my opinion.

Two things that I see as common in mainland Chinese leadership style with British leaders and managers as I have worked in China and have experience of solving such issues. (Hopefully the reasonably full context there means I won't be called out for racism!)

1. I see Shi as taking the rewards but absolving himself of as much responsibility as possible by dumping on his over promoted 'Yes men'. ie Hobbs.
2. The silent routine means GON is toast.

I don't really see that sort of back to goal play as a strength of his - perhaps the stats will prove otherwise but he doesn't seem very dominant aerially nor particularly strong when dropping in to receive. From what I've seen he's much better facing the opponents goal and running in behind even though he isn't exactly a pace merchant, he's picked some good passes for assists from those situations too. He's shown good finishing though so you'd back him to score more if you got service into him more regularly - though he's far from infallible there too. That early chance the other day needed dragging back into his path rather than attempting to dig it out from behind him on his weak foot and the chance from Doherty's volleyed cross should've harnessed far more than the glance off his thigh.

He's an odd player for me - his body type suggests he'd be some sort of target man but he seems to favour playing off the shoulder and chasing things down. His work rate is very good too - few percentage balls into the channels for him to chase could be an unpleasant route to some half chances.

They never learn do they. That's the most concerning thing about those running the show.

They've made these mistakes before but have done nothing to mitigate them happening again in the future.

We're completely rudderless.

One of our cheaper options out then?

Still think it would be bloody hilarious if Corberan rocked up here, kept us up and Albion don't make the top 6. Disclaimer: I do not think there is any chance of this happening

He does me too, but the financial decisions and the flip flopping of strategy are above his pay grade
