O'Neil aka GONe

I’m really pleased they’ve renewed. I think they’ve deserved it after last year.

I'm still open-minded about him in spite of last season's late decline (which had mitigating circumstances).

He talks well, seems thoughtful and has fostered a good spirit in the camp.

He has a big challenge now post-Neto and with the start we've got

I think I’m with you.

Although the way you described him seems exactly the way everyone described Gareth Southgate.

I didn’t like him either.

I wouldn't have sacked him nor given him a new contract. Jury is still out for me. I give him a pass on some of last seasons offensive stuff due to being let down by Shi. Our inability to keep a clean sheet is more on him though and with a higher line, questionable centre halves and a midfield which is too easy to pass through I'd be surprised if that improves

Think he will be under more pressure this season.
I was one of many that thought he should be sacked up until the City game. After that we were decent until it fell away at the end. I put that down to small squad/injuries.
My big concern from last season still needs to be addressed and that is our leaky defence. Nothing then gave me confidence he could coach defensively and not seen anything to change that in pre season. He's a likeable guy and we definitely are a better watch than the 3 seasons before he came.
He deserves a chance imo but if we're in the bottom 3 by Christmas, chances are he'll be sacked.

Good summary. I think the win over City had a massive impact last year and we rode the wave very well but then we crashed. How much of that was down to injuries is hard to gauge but the way we leaked goals is very concerning.

People used to say the same about Redknapp too.

He's in no way comparable to Lage but at the moment GoN is in a terrible run of form in the same way Lage was and has no excuses about pre-season and playing staff. He's got exactly what he wants in terms of a big striker.

No more excuses and definitely not this Premier League experience nonsense.

I really did think we looked much more sound positionally yesterday than we ever looked last season. That’s a least a sign he knows what needs to be addressed.

I’d like to add another CB but IMO Yerson + Toti is a straight upgrade on any Kilman-including pair we might have fielded a year ago.

Oops, I seem to have put 50p in the socialist **** machine.

Always the same with this little cabal that attack the poster rather than debate the post.
Oh look, a bit of Sunday afternoon abuse! You'd be bashing the report button hard and fast wouldn't you!

You talk about irony!? :ROFLMAO:

You said you wanted him out last November, you standing by that just shows how ridiculous you are, and that's what I was responding to.
