O'Neil aka GONe

Think Mol looks bad... try Rochdale where you can have a piss and still look over the brick wall to see a game. We're spoiled.
Think the joys of watching the game at Rochdale whilst peeing are long gone. Personally speaking I thought it was an excellent development and more teams should have implemented it.

Imagine a temporary structure like that would have regular inspections, like you would with scaffold, so you're always going to go from pass to fail somewhere between inspections. Unfortunately that happened just before the season started, it's like you'd expect them to rebuild it every summer just to make sure that wouldn't fall when it was needed, would cost a fortune.
I’d imagine the inspections to get a safety certificate are at reasonable intervals. Nothing to stop the club ensuring the structure is acceptable prior to such an inspection rather than waiting to be told it’s failed.

Can't remember the exact details when it was announced that it needed serious work whether it failed purely on the governance of the safety cert or if it was a regular check up.

All I'm saying is that given how things are now, this seems symptomatic of how they are maintaining Molineux generally now.

..to be replaced by Fonseca.

Gaz can cancel his looking at rental properties in Milan

Just a little reminder that Hobbs foolishly announced that we'd be offering Gary O'Neil a new contract this summer. With staff & players reporting back for pre season training in the next few weeks I'd expect something to be announced fairly soon after that.

If nothing is agreed it either means that we're not offering him enough or that we've been unable to sell a long term vision to a relatively new coach at the beginning of his career who clearly loves being here. Neither of the two scenarios are a particularly good look.

No need to worry just yet but if it drags on into pre season it could set off some serious alarm bells...

Or they've decided to hang fire and see how the new season starts given how shit the last 3 months of the last one was and they don't want to hand a bumper new contract to then pay off come October.

Probably not that but that would be the sensible and prudent approach

I mean, the start if the season is going to look like shit one way or another just by virtue of the fixtures. I don't think we'll know really how things are until Nov/Dec.

He should definitely be among the contenders IMO. You don't have to be particularly tactically innovative to coach International football as long as you have your finger on the pulse of what others are doing, which I think O'Neil does.

He's also someone who current players can relate to which I think is important for an England manager and he comes across very well in the media which is obviously something the FA will consider important.

There are better candidates but not that many really (if you're limiting yourself to English coaches).
