O'Neil aka GONe

They're not backing him for positive reasons though.

Hobbs will drag it out because he's put all his eggs in the GON basket, and Shi won't want to pull the trigger as it'll cost money to get rid and replace, and GON is a nice compliant yes man
I know. I think at one point it was, in their minds, but they have let it go too far and are now fucked

We’ve got to win two more games than Leicester over the remainder of the season to stay up, essentially. I think Ipswich & Saints will go.

That’s how we advertise it to any incoming manager. Cooper might like it to prove a point and stick two fingers up at his ex employer…

You have to laugh really 😂

All getting a bit academic now as we’re going down, but I wonder what exactly is going on? Feels less like he’s definitely gone and more like a twilight zone in which they sound out possible cheap replacements more or less openly, but with ludicrous parameters to work within and limited appetite for change as they still hope he’s a win away from being keepable. This could go on into January in their minds, but as we can see on the pitch and after the match, it’s spinning out of control.

It’s too late to sort anything this season I think - the team is totally disjointed and mentally shot. We need to look to appoint someone who can do well in the championship - a Kenny Jacket style appointment to counter GON’s Deano impression.
I agree it'll take a huge effort and a sea change in mentality.

But we're not down yet, 4 points adrift when teams around us aren't going to be getting much beyond 1ppg is not impossible to overcome.

I don't think the wider media GON love in helps either.

Shi and by proxy Hobbs are obsessed with the optics and controlling the narrative hence pocketing Judah, Percy and Phillips. They're probably properly fearful of getting a round of fucks for binning him from the wider media when he's had such a tough start, when he's been so unlucky etc etc

Remember the same rhetoric from players 12 years ago about Terry Connnor and how great training was, YOU KEEP FUCKING LOSING, SO ITS FUCKING POINTLESS
He's hardly going to say "he's fucking useless, we haven't got a clue what we are doing, particularly on corners.." :)

It seems West Ham are doing the same
Openly talking to managers and trying to secure them before sacking Lop.
What they are doing is also pointless, but is different. He is in a permanent state of being 1 game off the sack which he'll stay in until the inevitable happens and they appoint Potter, it is his job to save though.

GON is only here because they can't find anyone else they want,.which has been widely known since Thursday. I can't think of another example like this in season.

I think the narrative is changing slightly and fans are more angry at Fosun & Shi as well as being angry with GoN

GON is leading that narrative.
Shi and Fosun are top of any blame tree for both on and off field issues. Without their decision making their wouldn't be a Hobbs or O'Neil. They are all out of their depth

The obvious problem we have is that Shi is totally safe in his role.

He could do a shit in the centre circle and wipe it over Billy Wright's statue and Fosun wouldn't sack him.

We all mostly want Fosun gone, but *all they need to do is employ someone competent and consistent and we'd be mid table most seasons.

*I recognise this sounds easier than it is.

Fosun don't know, nor don't care, who Billy Wright is.

Edit - FFS, I can't even post a GIF representing my anger

He'll be in charge until they either raise the January transfer budget or are prepared to buy a manager out of his contract or lower their target levels. I think we all know which one it'll be

Is their a video of him listing the players? Watched the BBC and Sky one but only mentions 200m of players in the BBC one

You can just say the players are behind him and leave it at that, telling everyone how great training is and how much you’re learning then not transferring it to match day is just stupidity.
