I remember Deutsch sharing a blog by a Leicester fan towards the end of last season, which was painful to read. Everyone around the club seemed to realise they were sleepwalking to relegation, except for the owners and coaching staff.

I can see the same thing happening to us - we're only going one way, we can see it, I think the players can see it, but Fosun seemingly don't. Because we finished 13th last season and we spent money in January. It doesn't work like that - the 3 shittest clubs get relegated. Frankly, I don't want us to aim to be the 4th shittest team in the league, because that's playing with fire and I'm not 100% convinced that there are 3 worse sides than us.

We need a realistic, stable and ambitious medium to long term plans. I'm not convinced there are any realistic plans in place whatsoever, as too many people who are able to do something about this have their heads firmly in the sand.

I thought things were looking up when we appointed Lopetegui, started to back him in January and had some decent results/performances, but right now I can't see anything other than a very, very difficult season ahead of us.
 
When he was appointed i was thinking he was probably an "out of his depth but decent guy" kind of person. The more he talks, the more i just think he's a twat that will spout off the usual bingo card of a desperate manager trying to shift blame and scrutiny.

When he took the job he couldn't believe the talent he had available to him...... now we're £80 million short of 41 points! Just fuck him off. Experience can help some people....... but it won't matter how much experience GON has...... he will always be a shit manager.
 
I don't think GoN is twat though to be honest. He doesn't have the dislikeable arrogance of Lage, Hoddle or Saunders. I don't really take too much from what he says after games either, I just think he's massively out of his depth.

I don't want him in charge of the team, and sadly for him I doubt he'll get another chance at this level for a while (if ever).
 
Even if we do manage to scrape our way to survival, whether that's under GON or Lampard, we will be favourites to go down next season, it's unlikely we'll have the cushion of shit that are clubs like Luton, Sheff U, Everton (who look better with Beto now) and Burnley.

The death of our Premier League status is going to be slow and painful and incredibly predictable.

Without getting involved in the twat debate the comments after last night's game were up there with anything McGhee, Hoddle, Saunders or Lage served up in terms of insulting the intelligence of the fan base and that's why, based on Kenny's comments, he's getting rinsed across all social media platforms. It was weak and flawed after a PL game at the weekend, after just getting beaten by Ipswich's reserves it's transparently pathetic. That's a choice, not about experience or Peter principle

I think survival this season is dependent on either aburmley or Bournemouth being worse. Everton will scrape enough points to keep ahead of us. SU and Luton will definitely drop.
 
Everton look a much better team than us at this stage. Multiple options in forward areas now if they can keep them all fit.

Not if we're sold this season
 
Hoping for takeover rumours to come out every day now. Only way I think this situation improves, because I just don't see any replacement for GON who will offer meaningful improvement under Fosun's current restrictions.

But of course to sell, you need a buyer, and who's buying clubs right now at this level who isn't going to be just as naive? The only way to guarantee on-pitch success is to be the beneficiary of a Gulf state's oil largess, and frankly I'd prefer to be relegated out of the Football League altogether than support Saudi sportswashing. Which I guess leaves... US investment groups? Ugh.

You do know we're Chinese owned, don't you? hardly at the top of the 'Jolly Nice People league'
 
Sure, but a Chinese conglomerate - whatever its evils - is not the Chinese state.

A fan of a club like Newcastle doesn't have that moral crumb to comfort themselves with.
 
They essentially do the work for the Government though. Do something they don't like and its best tell your family you might be visiting some officials for at least a month.

We sat with a group of Leicester fans in a pub before the away game last season. Not one of them thought they were staying up.
 
The first thing any decent coach does is work with the defence and improve things in that direction as they know that if you don't concede goals you pick up points. Nuno did it, Lage, after his first three games, did it and then Lope improved it. Now we are back to where we were a year ago and this clown is actually making our defence worse. Kilman is a shadow of the player he was and the guy who came in and steadied the ship last season, Dawson, isn't getting any younger. We still have comedy central on the right side and this coach can't decide which player he prefers on the left so he gives them 45 mins each.

Frankly, relegation doesn't bother me. We have more chance of winning games in the Championship and I certainly wouldn't miss the nonsense that is VAR and refereeing performances.

The biggest issue, of course, is our ownership and the way they completely fucked up the situation with Lope. There was a proven and capable coach. OK, he has attitude / ego problems but winners are usually like that. He knew he couldn't fix the problems because our owners wouldn't do what was necessary to have us competing at the top end of the table so he chose to leave. Now we've got an incompetent clown and players who don't want to play for him. It's only a matter of time and the longer we leave it, the worse we will get... if that's even possible after our last two games.

Eh no. They had a good result and performance at Brentford. Much like they did at Brighton last season. But they can't deliver that type of performance consistently and are equally as bad as us. We will win a game or two unexpectedly and everyone will become optimistic for a bit but then the malaise sets in again.

Talk for yourself. Relegation will be a total disaster. You'll get most jumping ship, and the rest we could end up having a double relegation again. So absolutely not the premier League is the be all and end all.

No it won't. Some players may leave and who really cares (?) but most supporters simply don't do that. History shows us that over previous relegation's .... including when we dropped to Div 1.

Being a Premier League club is not the be and end all at all. Being a Premier League club gives you a certain status but for the vast majority of clubs, you'll lose games more than you'll win them. You have no chance of winning the title.

Bottom line, it is an over-hyped game of football with unfair playing conditions for over half the teams in the league. Certain teams are undoubtedly favoured and there is an acceptance that that is how it is supposed to be. The Premier League is simply a money making machine for certain individuals.

For Wolves, we go down, we still survive. We win a few more games than we lose. We start to have fun again. We get all optimistic. We sign players at reasonable levels rather than taking chances on kids with no experience. Managing expectations.
