I’m going off the evidence available, he’s clearly landed awkwardly and felt something in his knee. For that to happen he has to have done some damage, ergo minor sprain (how minor I do not know). Now you or I could probably play on with a minor sprain and just feel a bit sore tomorrow. But at high level sport, a 1% decrease in performance is massive. Also the risk of further damage.

Now with the next game being in 5 days (and the game after that 10 days away). Even the most minor of injuries could see his season over. Not really a crazy assumption to make and simply the point I was making. Now hopefully there is nothing wrong with him, but regardless of degree or 20 years in orthopaedics there’s still no way you can say that.
