In fairness to Kim Jong Un, I would like to have Dennis Rodman hanging out at my birthday party too. He'd probably show up dressed as a woman. I read a book by one of the 90's rock stars ( Anthony Kiedis or Billy Corgan, cant remember exactly) and there was a bit about how Dennis Rodman showed up backstage and did a load of coke with the band and went on a 4 day bender and ended up in a hotel room in Vegas with Charlie Sheen, a load of hookers and a mountain of Columbian bugle.

So maybe Kim Jong Un aint so weird after all.

Thanks for the correction and honestly do you think he is being paid to go to North Korea? If so surely the North Korean government could afford a more relevant celeb.

Well I do think he's being paid. Definitely. He wouldn't just rock over there to play an exhibition game in his own spare time. The regime probably contacted him as he is a bit of a loose cannon, plus there is no way anyone with any current relevance or credibility would agree to go over there.

You made the point that Rodman was doing it to remain relevant but it would take an awful lot more than that to remain relevant. If anything, he's ostracized himself from the American public even more by giving ridiculous statements about Kim jong Un being a friend for life.

I'd say Rodman is feeling the love for North Korea right now as its just stuck a couple of hundred thousand in his bank account.

Self reliance how? NK's economy and structure is a joke.

So was the economy and structure of many other communist regimes in the past. They still aim for it.

A lot of what NK has done in the last 12 months has pushed China even further away from them than ever in the past 60 years. Luckily for Kim, they are the American buffer so China can't afford to see North Korea toppled.
