Hednesford have sacked their manager whilst 2nd in the table and playing top at home tomorrow, going above them with a win. It seems harsh on the face of things, but the football is awful. I've been 5 times and they've won 4, but it's hoofball and sitting on 1-0 leads which has come back to bite them a couple of times recently. Their budget is massive for that league, so really they should be romping it.

Heading down the road today to see Walton & Hersham most likely get promoted to the National League South shortly. Been once before and it's a decent watch and atmosphere especially considering the level.

I started going to watch Sheffield FC in October and really been enjoying it, costs £8 to get in and is like £4.50 for a brew and a tray of chips. Finished 3rd in the end so in the playoffs next weekend.

£14. Which for the suburbs of London is cheaper than most activities.

They got promoted anyway, by losing. Good first half and very little in the second. Think they will be mid table ish next season in the National League South but they've ended the season poorly since the manager got poached 10-15 games ago by Yeovil.

Been searching for my local football fix for a while but just not getting a connection so far. Want to get into Epsom & Ewell but they play at Leatherhead’s Fetcham Road Stadium and most locals (Chelsea heartland) who need a non-league fix just follow Leatherhead instead.

A couple of mates invited me to Kingstonians but they play at Raynes Park after getting shafted by AFC Wimbledon over Kingsmeadow. From next year they go to Ashford up near Heathrow (didn’t realise but google says they’d ground shared at Letherhead’s Fetcham Road ground for a while previously too).

Also been invited to see Chelsea women at Kingsmeadow, but can’t be doing with any links to any recognised ‘big’ club as that would feel disloyal to Wolves, and yeah, the Kingsmeadow thing has a bit of a dark history so a bit put off by that too.

Figured my criteria was reasonably close by for a connection plus a secure home ground for a sense of stability also. All indicators point in the direction of Corinthian Casuals who are only 4.2 miles, a 20 min bike ride away in Tolworth. Combined Counties Premier Division South. Crowds approx 250-300, £10 entrance. Quite sad so many clubs even at those sort of levels have to bounce around ground sharing after getting turned over by property developers but suppose that’s always the way.

Anyway, CC next season, will have to see how that goes.

Sutton United perhaps? I did enjoy a bit of AFC Wimbledon the last couple of years but as you say, hard to feel affinity for a more recognised club. Walton & Hersham has no hardcore fan base so it's a bit weird and today the away fans were there in almost in equal force, but they are trying to build a connection with the community so that's good to see.
