Non League Football.

nice one! I try to go to watch Dulwich Hamlet when I can, great place to watch football. Never been to St Albans City so might go this year!
I’ve got a soft spot for Dulwich Hamlet. I always like a bit of a hipster, left wing team and they seem like they have the right principles off the pitch. Plus, I’m currently having a cracking Football Manager game with them!

Although my local team for 23 years Hednesford town won 2-1 today. I also have a soft spot for (one of the many other local places I’ve lived) Bamber Bridge who lost 3-0 to Buxton

1010 at Clarence Park, lots of away fans, and plenty of banter as obvs non segregated (though the Saints fans near me need to seriously work on their chat...).

A bit of nostalgia this evening - watching Woking v Southend on BT Sport.

Have sat (well in reality stood) in all of those stands from the early 80's.

Second best up to now, but they have only just turned fully pro & are having to transition to that (& Southend have taken 19 of their last 21 available points).

Haven't been to a game there for 2 years, part Covid & part circumstane, but was good to see the place again.

Tbf Football Focus can be a bit up and down, but thought todays feature on non league was excellent.

Ah man will have to find that then. I have had covid recently and felt far too unwell to consider going anywhere this weekend. I haven't seen Corby Town for years now as there relegation and realignment mean there is no games near Sheffield and I never seem to have enough time if back home and they do have a game.

A cracking game at Wrexham over the weekend...

I went to watch Hednesford at the weekend, been a few times this season.

They do try and get it down and play which is pleasing, they got bullied a bit by a more physical team on Saturday though and struggled to create much of note. They have just signed Leroy Lita, but he wasn't available for this one.

Scored 2 in the first half tonight.
Edit now hat trick
What's the format of the league. How many automatic promotion and play off places? Was trying to work out if they still have an outside chance if a play off place.

1 + 4. 13 points off the play offs with 5 games left. So no chance

Well done with marmite please Mr Toaster Head

Came up for the Southampton game and will get to two or three more before the end of the season also, but been looking for a convenient local footie fix to fill the voids too. The non-league is the sort of ‘safe-space’ where you don’t feel you’re cheating on your true love so have been a couple of times to to see the mighty (homeless) Epsom and Ewell (who play at Leatherhead) in the Southern Combination League in front of about 70.

Poor season last year but hopes are high after the signing of a star striker from East Grinstead for the astronomical sum of £160. No holding back now.

Chatting to the natives it appears things fell apart last year after the captain lost his head in a now infamous incident away at Dorking. You don’t get this sort of action in the Prem, and all for 8 quid too:
