Newcastle (H) 28/8: Build-Up & Match Thread

It's taken them a couple of weeks to finally get Isak over the line.

It's taken us the whole window so far to not get a striker over the line.

I'm not saying Newcastle suddenly turned to Isak straight after hearing about Wilson's injury, but they certainly ramped it up to perfectly cover his absence.

We still haven't got Raul back properly and our striker provision is still hardly better than it was during the aftermath of his injury

Back in Britain after a summer away and a missed home game. Excited to be at the ground with the family again and hoping for the best. After doing our best to follow with some poor coverage it’ll be good to actually see what’s going on, and able to contribute on the forum again with some basis for my opinions. Obviously looking forward to watching Nunes. Preferred it when bitter little Eddie turned up more likely to get beat but hopefully we can get one over the evil empire (which is what I thought of the fckin Geordies before Saudi Arabia got involved).

Likely to see one of the finest Wolves teams assembled in recent years ( on paper ) so it's a bit shatty there is so much pressure on them. Just hoping Jonny and RAN have good games and that Neto can show us what he is capable of. Quietly confident - feel an early goal will put us on our way. Have quite a dislike for Eddie Howe given that game in (2014) . Feels like yesterday.

If we’re not excited to see how our midfield 3 develop then there’s no hope for us fans. Points needed Ofcourse. But I am quite excited to see what happens this year, especially if more signings are to come

Start of a huge 7 days for Bruno, we need 5 points as an absolute minimum this week. I reckon 2 defeats in the next 3 could spell the end for him.

Sa, Semedo, Collins, Kilman, RAN, Neves, Nunes, Moutinho, Guedes, Raul, Neto is the XI I want to see today. Get at them and get the 3 points.

Bruno has asked us to give him until the middle of November before judging him.. I think he's got 7 days...

Yep agree, my heart says we 'can' win all 3 games but we know it doesn't work like that.
On paper today is the toughest but if we can't beat one of Southampton and Bournemouth with this squad he's fucked.

Agreed, it would have to be an unusual set of circumstances for us to still be winless this time next week and him still be in a job

Trains are absolute carnage with cancellations and buses so minimum I want a performance that makes this all worth it. Don't have to win, just show up

Everyone having a nightmare today. Wouldn't be surprised if the Newcastle end has a lot of empty seats at kick off.

It all reads well until the final few paragraphs which are just delusional. Essentially waiting until the WC break, which will be nearly half way through the season

What's the point in this transfer window if the head coach can't get this squad organised until halfway through the season?

Also, is he aware that halfway through November half his squad will be in Qatar?

Buildup on Sky this morning all about Newcastle Forest and Spurs. We might as well not exist.

If we do sign another 2 players and we get no points over next few games, maybe they will pull the trigger if they have a good manager in sights? Final piece of the puzzle? Dunno, hard to call!

Decent
