We seem to look better with 3-4-3 at the moment. Don't ask me why, we just do.

----------------------------------Patricio-----------------------------

----------------Boly-------------Coady-----------Saiss----------------

Doherty---------------Dendoncker--------Moutinho-------------Jonny

--------------Traore-------------Jimenez------Jota-----------------------

2018/19: D 1-1 (H), W 2-1 (A)
2016/17: L 0-1 (H), W 2-0 (A), L 0-2 (A, LC)
2011/12: L 1-2 (H), D 2-2 (A)
2010/11: D 1-1 (H), L 1-4 (A)
2003/4: D 1-1 (H), D 1-1 (A)
2002/3: W 3-2 (H, FAC)

With Bennett out, it's 'team picks itself' territory. Only really Moutinho's partner up for debate

I know he's played tonight, but assuming everyone there is fit, then I'd go mini Rubes instead of Jonny.

The right hand four (as long as Adama doesn't have one of his standing in one spot games) is starting to develop & the Jonny/Jota partnership works - this formation gives us a bit more go forward element than the 3 in midfield as we don't really have a real shoe in player to be the advanced midfielder.

Interesting that Neves (who was possibly our most celebrated signing) does not get in this

I’d start Neves ahead of Donk. The rest of the side as DW states.

I totally agree Jinks - Neves or Donck is the only choice. Although Kilman has certainly put himself into contention.

Start Adama and Diogo.
Attack from the kick off
Don't get Coady isolated 1 v 1

Well there’s some simple patterns to our play which as long as we follow we can threaten in both systems.

- Traore is not an attacking threat at WB in 5-3-2 if we have to dictate the game.

- We cannot play 5-3-2 without Jota/Neto/Traore as a forward.

- 5-3-2 doesn’t really work when we’re not playing on the counter.

- Neves cannot play in a 3-4-3

As we’re away next. It’s not the end of the world which way we go. I’d be 3-4-3. As Saiss has to play CB then has to be Donk and Moutinho in the middle. Rest of the team picks itself.

If it’s 5-3-2 then Doc RWB and Jota/Raul or Jota/Cutrone (then we can actually see what he’s about in a more suited role), but Raul is our best player so if fit needs to play.

I disagree with Neves not bring able to play in a central 2. He just can't play with João in a central 2. It has to be with Saiss or Donck.

Dan's team for me. Vinagre off the bench if we need more pace.

Well this effectively what I meant because Moutinho going to play every game!

Much as Traore fully deserves a start, i still feel that he is better as an impact player, whether than means he starts RWB and moves further forward, or whether he starts from the bench. But numerous times he has had more impact when moved further forward late on (City) or brought on to play there (last night) rather than starting (Southampton.)

I still think i'd go 352 with the option to go 343 if we need to, rather than being a busted flush if we are 343 and 1-0 down.

So, for me.

RP

Doc
Boly
Coady
Kilman (unless Bennett is fit)
Jonny

Moutinho
Saiss
Neves

Raul
Jota

If things aren't going well bring Traore on for Neves or Saiss and go 343

DW's team for me but with Neves instead of Moutinho, who I'm concerned we're going to burn out.

I don't buy into the rush to throw Kilman in right now based on one okay game. He got himself closer to being in contention last night, but Saiss at the back for me

Bruce: "It is mightily difficult to play Thursday & then Sunday. The big teams are used to repeatedly playing in Europe. It can be difficult & I hope we can benefit from it. Let's hope they're tired & bruised & have been delayed 5 hours! But Wolves are a very good side"

No doubt the opening part of that was done in jokey kind of way but that should set some Wolves fans off on twitter...

Our fans are strange. Offended by everything. Not sure what he has said which is so inflammatory

I'm no Bruce fan but it is clear as day from his 5 hour delay comment he was trying out some comedy

Jokes from Jag by Steve Barnes?
