New - The things that really annoy you

If I cycle to work it takes about 15-17 mins door to door.
If I drive to work it takes over an hour.
If I drive to work in the rain it takes over 75 mins.
If there is heavy snow and I walk it, it takes 55 mins.
Distance - 3 miles.

If a cycle to the office I will die...its in Leeds.

Although I would also die if it was at the end of my street...

I've had a ride in an Uber in Leeds city centre on a Friday afternoon that took 28 minutes to do two miles, so seems par for the course.

From my house to leeds city centre is roughly one mile. The other week my wife took the bus into town (normally 10 minutes off-peak) which took 40 minutes. The road management system in and around leeds centre is fucked.

My journey home last week was diverted via Elland Road and that just seemed to be road work central.

Didn't complain about that though as the reason for the diversion was the road out of the office towards Bradford was closed as a 15 year old was stabbed to death at the school close by.

I only really remember my journey because it was myself and two trans friends, and the taxi driver when we got in let a wholly audible sigh. Then he decided to turn up a side street to try and avoid the traffic (plus to get us out of his cab ASAP) and turned into an even bigger queue which he didn't find particularly amusing (I probably would have too but as I was in the passenger seat at the time I was feeling somewhat uncomfortable).

That's bollocks!
If they aren't providing you with what's in your contract then you should be discussing money!
And they will tell you to fuck off. We had it loads when Squeeze was about and working from home and their “essential maintenance” fucked up meeting after meeting.

When I first started cycling to/from work I got 100 yards down the road & thought I was going to die as I hadn't been on a bike for 25 years or more.
First time I did the journey home (which has some climbs) I couldn't walk when I got off the bike!
That just shows what bad shape I was in.
Still feel fucked at the end of a journey now, but I recover quickly.

Yeah I'll phone them up for an argument I can't win to try to claim £8. Seems a good use of my time.

My journey out of Leeds was a lot better. Somehow from the hotel to the motorway every single traffic light was on green.

Driving in Leeds at 10.30am is the way forward

The cat bringing in a live rodent then letting it go (at 2am). Then after about 2 minutes of not being able to find it again, going to the back door to go back out again.

Absolutely shocked by what's happened in town today but I'm completely sickened by the riots currently underway in protest.
Gangs of far right scum using the stabbing of children as an excuse to loot Foot Locker and burn trams and buses and police cars. I've a mate who's currently on lockdown in the Clarence hotel as the rioters are outside, and the Msternity hospital is also locked down as the riots are right outside. Fucking scum

Ugh obviously didn't set a reminder to switch emails and set up a new account so my Athletic sub has just changed and I've paid £7.99 for a month 😭

Enjoy your bonus, Steve, ya part time rascal

Don’t want to be all Karl Henry but the ‘refereeing’ my kids endured today in a cup semi final from a 50+ year old man was a disgrace. It got to the point was he was literally serenaded from the pitch by the home parents.

Ignored one lad getting stamped on his knee - he’s now in A&E and ignored multiple shoulder to the head. It’s down right dangerous, up to today I’ve always had sympathy for people doing a thankless task. Well the ref today was certainly thanked.
