I’m not sure I agree here.gotta admit I kinda roll my eyes anytime we're associated with someone portuguese/mendes. obviously nothing against portugal but it has at points felt like we're being led by our noses. there's a literal world of options.
The mastermind for Gerrard? Winning a 2 horse race in Scotland before coming to the Premier League and being distinctly average at best?
I’m not sure I agree here.
I don’t think there’s a world of options from where I’m sitting - not any good ones anyway.
Make no bones about it, we’re struggling.
We were rancid yesterday and nothings changed there - we’re losing that game against any other PL side…….probably comfortably.
We need someone fast. Like today. Like now.
And all this shambolic pissing around is totally on the incompetence of the board.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they have no more a clue who our next managers gonna be, than us.
Amorim's Sporting knocked out of the Portuguese cup by a third division team...
A potential candidate who has only managed in Portugal I think and therefore lacks a wider range of experience that we really need . It is true that all Managers have a shelf life , and perhaps his shelf life at that club is approaching its final year , final few months .Amorim's Sporting knocked out of the Portuguese cup by a third division team...

Picking him has far too many risks for me .
Right now we need a more experienced head to steer us to safety this season .
Yes - it could work , it might work - but how high is the risk ?
Unai Emery is the kind of Manager I would go for - ticks a lot of boxes .

Doesn't matter how many times you say it.Unai Emery isn't going to leave Villareal for Wolves
'Howling Unai Emery at the moon' sounds like a Half man half biscuit lyric.Doesn't matter how many times you say it.
But if you why’re a success in Portugal and move elsewhere and are successful they won’t want to join a struggling PL team as they’ll get better offers. Oh and that Mourinho chap did quite well in his first job out of Portugal.A potential candidate who has only managed in Portugal I think and therefore lacks a wider range of experience that we really need . Perfectly put. It's a fucking tough one, isn't it.
I like the idea of Beale, he's clearly got an exceptional reputation as coach, and could be the next Potter. Edwards is a romantic option, but a bloody big risk.
But then given how close we are to peril, do we need a 'safer pair of hands' in charge? I don't even know what that would look like tbh. I can't imagine Neves, Joao and Nunes taking Sean Dyche or similar too seriously. Nuno would be a safe appointment but fuck me it'd be embarrassing, and even worse in 2-3 years time when we moved him on again.
But I also want us to avoid just having whichever Mendes puppet is thrown in.
Compiling a list of five names that are attainable, affordable, reputable, and ideally play front foot football isn't a job I'd fancy right now tbh. But then again I'm not paid to know about European football
Agree with all of that, only thing I'd query is Edwards being the "romantic" option, where's the romance, unless you are referring to his incredible good looks. It's a fucking tough one, isn't it.
