I say yes but I feel that is mainly nostalgia but also fear of our current position.

This is a moment when we need a structure and an identity. We need to keep improving every game. We need the pack mentality that Lage obliterated. We need Nuno.

He's not officially our DoF though.

Unofficially he is and I hope the FA look at his conduct and that of the club. I'd be happy to see Shi and Mendes given 12 month bans from all football activities as that's what the standard punishment for agents representing clubs and players should be.

That's outrageous. I honestly (naively) thought Guo owning a stake of Gestifute by proxy of his wife would temper the worst excesses, but he's taking us to the cleaners more than he has the likes of Valencia.

Dalrymple was the bigger loss. He didn't get everything right but he provided a friendly face connecting the club to the fans (doing a similar thing at Harlequins now).
Since he has gone Jeff has decided we don't need to replace him and instead we get piss poor comms and ideas from the likes of Vinny C. Notice how quite he has gone since the fans reaction to him was less than kind.

I don't think the situation created by Jeff changes until he goes, whether by choice or Fosun want him out

Keeping him on was even worse than appointing him in the first place. It was obvious he was never going to last until Christmas. The players probably even knew it.

He’s obviously less of a prick than Saunders but his tenure has probably annoyed me more. At least with Saunders we were already a mess of a club. Lage managed to destroy nearly everything good that Nuno had built. It was impressive work.

All the others have got pissed off with Jeff and fucked off (Dalrymple, Thelwell etc.) We will never know the in’s and out’s of the Nuno situation. The results weren’t good, the entertainment was low. I think he had pissed Jeff off more refusing signings and refusing other things the club were planning/doing rather than the results themselves. So they agreed to part ways rather than being “sacked”.

I said it the other day. Jeff had thought it’s a piece of piss. So they got the yes man in on the cheap and hasn’t bothered replacing the others as it was so easy he can do it himself and rely on Mendes when he needs to. Why pay Mendes AND a DoF/MD when he can just pay Mendes…

So now he has no one else to rely on. The whole clubs staff are over promoted and out their depth so Mendes is the only option. Hopefully he will realise this and do something about it but I fear the penny still hasn’t dropped and he is too arrogant/stubborn to change. So the Mendes reliance continues and it may end up being too late before we act and try to operate like a normal football club rather than having a super agent only interested in lining his own pockets in charge of football operations.
