The most infuriating aspect is that if you'd made it known in the summer "the Wolves job is essentially available, ignore Bruno Truss in his shit hoodie, there's £100m+ to spend and they aren't selling Neves or Neto", imagine the quality of manager you'd have interested.

Just by being in the bottom 3-4 a quarter of the way through the season and with potential candidates having taken other jobs in the meantime, you massively reduce the available pool.

All so we could keep Bruno fucking Lage who was SHIT and we all knew it. And because we kept him, we lost a load of senior players who hated him. Unreal way to run a club.

All speculation really. Could be any number of reasons. Unless one of the two parties reveal why he didn`t want to come then we`ll never know. Time to move on.......to God knows where. Lot of fans having a good chuckle at us now, not least QPR fans. Hope we don`t pass them come end of season.

Jeff Shi landing a good manager is proving to be like Quasimodo trying to bag himself a supermodel.

It was so obvious Lage would end up getting sacked. The decision to keep him and allow Mendes a huge influence on spending could be one of the most expensive mistakes in football history. Guedes and Nunes are probably already worth half what we paid and relegation is beginning to look ever more likely. I joked that when we went 1-0 up at Leeds our season had peaked but it is beginning to look it was true.

For the first time in this whole debacle I'm starting to think we actually might go down.
Is it back to Nuno, Bosz or Martins?

Yep. And it's not hard to imagine how much more restrictive and unappealing the conversation with Shi must be now:

"The squad clearly needs a striker - can I bring one in in January?"
"We've already bought one and signed another on a free, plus Raul will be back by then, so no."
"Well, what about other attacking players? Nobody has a record of consistent scoring or chance creation at this level, and at the very least a natural 10 would help."
"We spent more than £100m in the summer on new players, including two midfielders with attacking capability in Nunes and Traore, so no."
"OK... can you at least let me know if I'll have a veto on contracted players like Neto leaving next summer? And that you'll provide the resources to convince Neves to sign a new contract?"
"We've already engaged on a substantial rebuild in the summer at considerable cost, so unfortunately no."
"...will you let me bring in my own backroom team?"
"You can bring some in, but Scott Sellars oversees scouting, data analysis, and other staff. You'll have to work with our existing teams there."
"Um..."
"We'll pay you a lot more than QPR if it helps?"
"..."

As I said in my post, think this is the most likely scenario, but you've put more effort in😃

I think the problem would have been that the manager isn't going to be spending the £100m+, at least not in the traditional sense.

I agree with the rest though

Most managers would be happy to have Nunes (used correctly!), Collins (you wouldn't lose the depth at CH, anyone good would have kept at least ONE of Coady/Boly/Saiss) and Kalajdzic (his injury was just unfortunate) handed to them. Bouba looks a good player too.

Guedes and Hwang, less so.

"We've got a better canteen. The chef will cook you anything you know, anything. Just bring a menu in."

What a mess! It’s obvious Shi has ballsed up everything he has touched since he achieved ‘total control’.

He really has to go

unfortunately it’s too late already and we are now championship bound under Dyche.

What’s Jay Rodriquez and Aaron Lennon up to nowadays?

Even though it's been posted that he'd agreed to terms (so he'd agreed to what Jeff had sold him) and its QPR (who are not short of a bob or two) who changed his mind, you're still proceeding with your Jeff agenda?

Everyone is speculating what might have happened, what might have been said but we don't know and will most likely never know. I'm as disappointed as most but we draw a line under it and go again.
