Look how the club is run compared to QPR. Why would you want to join us.

When you know you can continue at QPR and use it as a stepping stone to a club who don’t have a super agent running the show with an over promoted youth coach as front and a CEO who knows nothing about football.
Fair point. He might have done his homework.

Maybe Big Les promised him a ride in his helicopter?

Again you could see it if QPR were where we were in 2017. They are not.

I cannot see the determining factor being from their side, it's something we've said or done.

Another alternative is he's loyal and doesn't want to jump ship at QPR after 15 games. But then why make an official approach in the first place?
All the reports are that he was keen to come until he actually spoke to some of the charlatans running the club.

It would be amateur to not be clear on our stance in the beginning though: you'll be head coach, have some (but not total) say in transfers, Mendes is obviously heavily involved, etc.

All of that is fairly public knowledge anyway.

He met Jeff Shi. Seems to be a recurring theme.

We're done. Plymouth away next season beckons.

My only other thought is maybe we want to build a more perma-backroom staff (basing this off the Rob Edwards news) and Beale wasn't comfortable with that.

or maybe that rare thing in football - a bit of loyalty...

Nah fuck it - on you Jeff and Scott. Do one.

Never got to taste one of Hwang's cookies or the food in the canteen

To be honest if Beale had agreed to come to us then it does at least suggest Jeff hadn’t scared him off and we weren’t ‘rejected’ as such.

Plus, if he’s so easily persuaded back by the offer of a load of wedge in his back pocket from Les Ferdinand he’s perhaps not the calibre of manager we thought he might be.

No way is Beale one for blind loyalty. You can bet he's done what he thinks will benefit his career the most.

Probably Jeff or Scott spouted a load of garbled crap at him and weird working conditions/restrictions and he thought he'd wait it out for the Rangers or Villa job

Considering Beale also has a rep as something of a tactics man, maybe he wasn't keen as well on having to rely on someone else's existing stats and analysis team.

Idk, the whole thing with Wolves at the moment is that you have to accept being a cog in a machine - one of the biggest cogs, for sure, but still the sell is a project where you have to shape yourself to the needs of the overall ~vision~ (ie Shi's), rather than shaping it yourself. If you're a bright young talent who's know for having your own smart approach to the game, then that feels like something which could well cause a change of heart after sleeping on it.

I'm of the opinion he's seen how Gerrard's stock has fallen by jumping into a premier league job too early. Backed himself to do a good enough job with QPR whilst still finding his feet as a manager.
