Middlesboro 1 - 2 Wolves: Verdict

How long has Frank's ban got to go? I miss his views on refs. Remission for good conduct?

From Frank:

That's good. I have been reading match report on TWF as a guest, and Jabbawolf asked on post 48 whether the assistant could have helped with the Costa incident.

The fact is Attwell instructs his assistants not to get involved. His poor use of them is well known, and many AR's dread being appointed when Attwell is ref.
Cheers Penk - I know it’s a different game, but Attwell could do with seeing the humility that Nigel Owens referees a game with, actively seeking input from colleagues with a better view - refereeing a game is about being a tight team, not being an autocracy.

This is my view rather than a moderator view. This place has been a lot calmer and easier to read since his ban and the last thing people would want is it to go back to how it was. I think he got a rough deal from some posters, but I guess that was down to people not been sure who was actually posting.

I looked at Attwell as soon as the trip happened, he looked straight at his linesman.

Out of nowhere with no context then, but fair enough.

Yeah I realised that. I was just watching the highlights back (again) and noticed what a good throw it was but it hadn’t been picked up by anyone, or I didn’t notice anyone pick up on it anyway

Did you notice when the whistle went straight after Cavaleiro's goal, and everyone for a split second didn't know what decision Atwell had made, even the bench needed confirmation from the fourth official :)

Yeah because the prick forcefully blew his whistle during the celebration. Did the same for the Boro goal.

He’s an absolute tosser. The attentions off him when a team scores, so he tries to get it back on him again causing confusion in the process. Being a shite ref is one thing, being an arrogant **** in the process is something else.

That was bizarre. Loved Nuno putting his hand on his heart and noticeably "phew"-ing when they finally got confirmation that the goal stood.

Yeah I noticed that too. What a bell-end.

You can see the celebration in front of Pulis properly on this video.

Hardly anything really. Was expecting to see Nuno do what he did in the Directors Box at Bristol

Pulis had a spat with someone on our bench (don't think it was Nuno) at one point in the first half. That five minutes or so where they committed 5-6 fouls.

Fuck him, he's a bawling, classless prick. Literally a proven fraud as well. Horrible man even taking his football out of the equation. I don't care what he thinks of Nuno, if he's interested I'll tell him what I think of Tony Pulis.

Spot on DW. Fuck him and his rotten brand of football.

What a result this was. It made a statement even if it didn't need to.

We were cruising up to half-time and then a superb through ball from Neves puts Costa away. He gets tripped by Friend from behind and the ref does nothing. He completely bottled it. What did he think happened? Did he think like Pulis that Costa threw himself to the ground to get the defender sent-off? Did he think Costa just lost his balance? What did the Linesman see, he was running level with them?

Our players should have stayed disciplined but they were obviously incensed by the refs decisions, or should I say lack of them. It doesn't matter now but I hope the Assessor saw how the ref affected the game with his mistakes and I hope Wolves complain about the refs performance esp. as he has led to us losing 2 players for our next game.

Fingers crossed it doesn't have any further effect on us and we can come away from the next game with three points.

Alternative highlights with extra Nuno celebration. The guy's just got no passion at all...

I'm going to start reacting like that every time one of my team successfully deliver a project. I think they'd like it.
