Mateus Mané

Listening to The England Pod, an ep on young players, and they were very very excited about Mateus, but also convinced he was gone in the summer regardless. Sadly think they're right.

I hadn't realised that he'd played up top quite so often for the U21s. I wonder if he'd be playing further forward if we actually had some depth in midfield.

Mateus is really good, and not are playing in the best position, its offensive midfield, and are a lot time defending...

The coach, need use that drive skills, speed, pass and shot in attack. And i think Arias play better a bit more back...

IDK by Mateus lose like 17 games this season, have a lot quality to play.

He needs to go for his own good. We`ll ruin him here.

Player of the Month for the second month running.

Let's just give him Feb, March, April, May and POTS (young, fans and players) awards now and save some time.

With Hwang being ruled out for weeks he has lost his rival...

@Lycan will be taking his half and half England/Portugal scarf to the final game of the season, Henri Camara style.

We didn't bother the year we get relegated to League 1, we shouldnt this year either

Mane is going to win them, so they will do them but probably training ground reveals for the social media rather than on the pitch and before the lap of shame

My error, must have just been thinking of the on pitch presentation being canned

Would have been a bit logistically tricky with thousands of furious fans milling around the pitch, even if we hadn't cancelled it in advance (pretty sure we did).

At least this time we'll be relegated weeks before the final home game...

I would imagine the "sources" for this news are dubious, to say the least, but in news which will surprise nobody:

Caughtoffside is about as unreliable as it gets. Fichajes levels.

However, it is of course a strong possibility of being a consequence of relegation so we have to absolutely hammer any buyer on fee if it happens.

I’m not convinced he’s going anywhere so good, or for a fee as big, as is generally expected. But then there’s no accounting for the superficial nature of analysis in football. Having been away I watched the MOTD highlights of Grimsby away. The plaudits for Edwards afterwards are truly hilarious. I think Leon Osman mistook Grimsby for Juventus.

He’s not done too much since those first few weeks. Still our best forward player but the bar is horrifically low. He’s not going to go to a sky 6 club and play and the mid table sides probably wouldn’t pay the fee on a small sample. So I’d be surprised if he left, unless he genuinely wants to do a Jack Rodwell at City for example.

I think he’ll be off. We’ll get a reasonable fee and he will want to go.

Shane as he’s the only one in this squad that I’m interested in watching next season

Edwards seems to play him for 90 minutes every week. By the end of the season there will be a lot of teams looking at the experience he's had here at his age and seeing that as a massive positive.

His work rate and versatility will be huge plus points for him as well.

Even if he only scores one or two more by the end of the season, what he's doing for us is seriously impressive. Look at Dibling and how much he went for in the summer. He's a far more limited footballer IMO, isn't the most humble guy around and had actually had an absolute stinker of a season for Southampton compared to the positive one Mané is having.

A big six club will buy him for potential. Obviously he won’t play every week but neither did Foden at that age. He’s got a lot of talent and whilst currently his decision making is often poor training at a club like City with better players will soon improve that. I reckon we’ll squeeze about £40m out of someone.

There's far too much chatter about regarding him being elsewhere next season.
In some ways, it's a surprise given his (relative) lack of experience.
However from his pov he can see what a car crash the club is, & he also probably knows there will not be a huge chance of promotion next season so will look to get out.

Plus he's not from the area and has only been her a couple of years so the bond can only be fairly limited. I'd hope for a sale and a 12 month loan, beit unlikely.

Equally he may think that now is the best time for him to get a big move following his breakthrough this season. If he stays with us and then doesn’t set the Championship alight, it’s unlikely the big teams will be making a move for him. So I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him push for a move this summer because who knows when it might happen again.
