Mateus Mané

I'm not sure what he's ceiling is, or even if he's EPL standard yet but we haven't had too many this season who've looked like they're EPL standard across 3 starts like he's had (Gomes, Andre and whom? Maybe one of the CBs). And that's impressive given his age and the fact he wasn't really a factor for first half of season.

If he keeps this up definitely someone we can build the attack around in the Champ for as long as we can keep him.

How different the team looks with someone creative drawing attention (and a striker who's head hasn't dropped).

It's Andy Turner, went on to play for Chasetown and I think is still at Hednesford in some capacity

When SSN do their rolling advertising of upcoming games on the right of the screen, he's now the face of Wolves...some rise

Anyone think he’ll still be a Wolves player next season?
Think a lot of it comes down to the lad himself. From a Wolves perspective, we’ve got him on a long term contract, but the moment he starts to make noises about not being content or whatever, that only ends one way. He does mention being a Premier League player a LOT whenever I see him interviewed etc, which sets off some alarm bells, but it could just be his youthful ambition showing through.

You’d like to think, given we gave him his big break etc, that he’d give us at least a season in the Championship to see if he can get us back up, but we all know what modern day football is like. A decent half season here & one of the big boys shows some interest in the summer and you can quite see us selling him. I hope not, though.

I don't think this matters a jot to players now, if it ever did.

I guess players who have been at clubs since they were 8 or something, maybe. But Mané hasn't even been with us 2 years yet.

There's probably not a reasonable answer, but I can't not be curious about why the fuck VP wasn't playing him.

Because Pereira has had more clubs than Tiger Woods.

It stands to reason that if you've 10 clubs in 12 years you aren't really compatible with nurturing young talent as you aren't in any one place long enough to do anything.

(That's why you give him a 3.5 year contract extension and appoint his mate into a strategic role)
