Man City (H) 25/8 Build-Up Thread

Doherty is playing, damn. Mendy and Sterling are going to have a field day.

Unchanged, right call for me for now. 433 for City . They will try to pin Jota and Costa back I think. Hopefully we are able to counter attack effectively

Costa and Doherty in, which I wouldn’t have done, but hopefully they’ve shown something in training - better form please lads

Rabbit in headlights management. I hope Nuno’s faith in under achievers is rewarded today. Otherwise the question will be how poor you have to play to get dropped.

Last year Nuno was happy to drop players who had a bad a game - Miranda and Batth spring to mind. Got my hopes up that Doherty was finally about to be dropped. If we get thrashed here that should be the end of him but we should not have let it go this far.

Ffs comments like this really? We are two games into the season!!

Aye no need for that at all. Nuno is not bothered about dropping players at all.

Bloody half and half scarves everywhere.

What a load of shite. Rabbit in the headlights is about the last description I would have of Nuno. Talk about over reaction...

I find it sad, that anyone is pantwetting at this stage of the season, and to be questioning nuno on the eve of game three, very very sad indeed.

Warning signs from Sterling already.

I think Neves and Moutinho could cause some trouble today if we get set up. City are closing them down hard not giving time or space but at the expense of space out wide to pass to...

Bennett showing some good scumbag tactics so far, mild obstruction on the keeper to slow his distribution and then even managed to block the kick completely, followed by some gentle blocking off on Sterling. That sort of stuff could be key today as long as it's not too blatant and attracts punishment.

Costa looks so far off the pace.

Good link up there between Jota and Jonny nearly gets a chance for Costa but can't get in ahead of Mendy and then offside for the second attempt. Haven't seen much of that from Jota since early on last season, seems to be playing wider today than he has for a while rather than trying to get in at the centre halves and link with the centre forward.
