Man City (H) 21/9 Build-Up & Match Thread

Well that wasn't much fun to watch. We've been taken apart right from kick off.

As bad as we have looked, Man City have been absolutely brilliant. It's the best I have seen anybody play against us since we came back up.

Indefensible by Saiss. Idiotic challenge. I think we've given them a penalty in 3 out of our last 4 league games against them now which shows how we can struggle against the quality of their attackers.

At least we won't have to play them again for a while!

Troare being blamed for a bad pass by Neves

He's not been great but neither has the rest if the team and they are playing in their own positions!

Vinagre and Adama are absolutely shocking.

Midfield 2 are getting overrun.

Shove Adama up top, bring Burr and Donk on for Podence and Neto

Well that was awful. Don't get me wrong City have been outstanding, their patterns of play are top quality but we have been terrible on the ball. Yes they press well but you expect Moutinho, Neves and Podence to be much better with possession and look after it. We actually got in the game just before Saiss gave the penalty away which is shame as i think he's actually been one of the better players on the whole but you just can't give away stuff like that especially against these.

Bloody hell, that was bad. No point singling out any of the outfield players as they've all been bad. Prawn's comment is right - we look terrified.

On the plus side, this is the most physical I've ever seen Coady. Must be a chance of Jesus being sent off, and maybe Adama can get Mendy booked again. But this is just awful. Brainless from Saiss

The pass from Neves not his fault - the hiding behind a man when Coady has the ball is, among many other statue impressions.

That said, apart from a poor decision from Saiss, we could still be hanging on at 0-0.

Can never be angry with Wolves for being outclassed by a team like this. City have been incredible.

What I can get angry about is
A) Saïss with one of the most brain-dead tackles I've ever seen.
B) Adama putting in zero effort. Nothing to do with whether or not he can play the position. He'd given up before he crossed the white line today and that's shocking.

Hold on, just seen the replay and Boly is sauntering back too - why not spit such nonsense at him too?

Traore has not been good, but to say he’s given up and doesn’t care is just bollocks.

Our season ain’t gonna be defined by a poor performance and result against a phenomenal City performance

Vinagre and Adama are absolutely shocking.

The vast majority of people were unconcerned by playing at least a couple of PL games with a makeshift RWB, so this was always a risk

For all that the window is starting to look a good one if we can get Semedo over the line, not a single signing is on the pitch making any difference, so we need to be patient I guess.

Those 3 points at Sheff Utd make this defeat much easier to take

To be fair Boly has been poor, I just don't think we're allowed to say it :)

Not having B at all, that's complete bollocks. He's trying but he's clearly not sure where to be. He doesn't know whether to go forward and whether he can leave space in behind or whether to stay, he's then clearly not as confident on the ball and so on and he keeps giving the ball away.

I think the one positive we all could generally agree on about Adama is that he at least puts in effort. Even if he doesn't always correctly apply it.

Yeah this. Nowhere near as good as some would have you believe. He's good but just not that good and not really been the same reassuring presence since the Arsenal game as he was when he first came back. Would love us to go and get a centre half over the next 2 weeks and then not sure it matters who plays lcb between Saiss and Boly.

Fucks sake, half a chance there but terrible, terrible touch by saiss
