Loan Watch 2022/2023

Midweek update.

Fabio Silva - Anderlecht (Belgian First Division A)

Played 83 minutes in a 1-0 win at Young Boys. It was his shot that cannoned off the defender’s legs online and landed at the feet of his team mate who slotted in the winner.

Ryan Giles - Middlesbrough (Championship)

Another full game, this time at Stoke in a 2-2 draw. Not sure where he was for the second, but it wasn’t down the left. Paddy McNair was there instead to swing in the cross for the assist.

Dion Sanderson - Birmingham (Championship)

Played the full game and picked up a booking in a 1-1 draw at home to Watford. Scooped the ball off the line well with a great slide, but was stranded on the line for Watford’s equaliser.

Taylor Perry - Cheltenham (League 1)

Played 78 minutes in a goalless draw at Fleetwood.

Louie Moulden - Solihull Moors (National League)

Played against York at home in a 1-1 draw to help keep the Moors’ unbeaten run intact. Might be harsh to say, but looked like the ball went through his gloves for the goal, although it came at him quickly. Made a good stop later on though.

On as sub: Corbeanu came on for 5 minutes as Blackpool won 1-0 at QPR and had a chance to seal the victory but shot straight at the keeper from a one-on-one. Lonwijk came on for last 10 in 5-1 defeat at Charlton just before they conceded the final goal. Lewis Richards came on for last 20 in a 2-0 win at Gillingham.

Oh and just saw Hoever played a full game in a 1-0 win for Jong PSV.

Weekend update.

Theo Corbeanu - Blackpool (Championship)

Played just over an hour and scored his first goal for the club in a 3-3 draw at Burnley. Pounced on a mistake from the Burnley defence and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper.

Goal around 40 seconds in:

Dion Sanderson - Birmingham (Championship)

Played the full game as Blues lost to ten-man Wigan 1-0 at home. Was a smash-and-grab from the visitors, but they scored a well-worked goal where they pulled Sanderson out of position and scored from the edge of the box.

Ryan Giles - Middlesbrough (Championship)

Played the full game in a 1-0 defeat at Reading.

Taylor Perry - Cheltenham (League 1)

Played 82 minutes and got his first assist of the season in 1-0 win at Exeter. Was part of a smart triangle of passes down the left then picked his team mate out with a good ball across the box.

Nigel Lonwijk - Plymouth Argyle (League One)

Came into the team after a 5-1 drubbing midweek to help them keep a clean sheet in a 3-nil win at Forest Green. Played on the right of a back three and was one of Plymouth’s best players according to the report.

Louie Moulden - Solihull Moors (National League)

Sounds like a corker of a game this one. Moors looked down and out at 3 down, but they got two back before half-time before getting two more in the last ten minutes to win it. Moulden got caught out of position with a lob a couple of times, the first one being particularly bad.

On as sub: Lewis Richards came on for last 15 minutes in a 1-0 defeat at Barrow.

Unused sub: Bolla (rested for cup)

Not in squad: Kawabe, Sang-Bin, Campana, O’Shaughnessy.

No game: Silva, Hoever.

Jordao to Santa Clara for the season confirmed by Wolves this evening.

Looks like Hoever might be back in Ruud's good books at PSV, either that or they have a long injury list.

He's on the bench tonight for the Rangers game.

I don't like Ruud's new look. Looks like a shit 90s geography teacher.

Jesus it took me a second to work out who that was. At least in the evidence of that he seems to be in the rare catogory of footballers who are slimmer in management than playing.

To be fair Ruud couldn't look like he did forever

You don't need to voluntarily turn yourself into a young Harold Shipman though. Awful glasses.

Looks like a candidate to be Buffy's new Watcher

Wouldn't have the same ring in 2022 if he kept saying "I'll consult Google" though, as he is sat on teams in a different country due to Watcher Council budget cuts and sustainability initiatives.

It’s not like RvN was attractive in his prime tbh.
