Like Rob going on about how he encouraged Jackson to use his pace and attack the LB at HT on Friday. Yeah, I mean great. But why didn't this happen the day he signed?!
This might be the most annoying bit for me. We’re generally good at identifying players who have done well wherever they were, but so rarely do we try to replicate the circumstances that helped them be effective.
It’s not a hard rule; I’ll go ahead and say “but Marshall” so nobody else can.
I don’t know if they’ll objectively be the worst team to win the league, but Arsenal will surely be the worst team to watch that’s ever won it if they do. It’s genuinely Pulis/Allardyce football but with a higher level of talent in the players.
Despite how they did in League One and their fans convincing themselves they would walk the league, they are not very good. On a good run since the start of 2026 but before then their away form was terrible, been very reliant on home form to sustain anything near a playoff push. Been a few games at home they have had the rub of the green with decisions too.
Stansfield has just the 7 goals from open play so far, and only scored once since November.
But Birmingham are pretty well backed, I imagine they will again spend a lot in the summer and be a much different beast next season when we are also in the Champ.
If we are serious about going back up which I think we probably are from an intent perspective, although I doubt the competence is there at any level, then we could probably do with Ipswich grabbing 2nd and Wrexham winning the play offs in terms of threats next season. Blues will throw money around and it wouldn't surprise me if they appointed another name manager.
