Live Match Discussion 2025/26

Funny how Man Utd got the benefit of double jeopardy but we didn't. Strange that.
The argument is always whether he tried to play the ball.

No sympathy at all with Lacroix because he obviously didn't (it's the right decision today), but I don't think Wharton did last week either. He was never winning the ball with that kind of challenge, he was only ever going to go straight through the back of Mané.

Also denied a goal scoring opportunity like the one today, so why didn't he get the red card? 🤔🤷‍♂️

If you slide in and make a reasonable attempt to play it, whether it's a goalscoring opportunity or not is irrelevant now. You won't get a straight red.

The argument is whether Wharton did or knew that he was 100% going to foul Mané. I think the latter, the officials disagreed.

Lacroix simply hauled the man back, no attempt to play the ball, red card.

Not that it makes any difference but we're the only winners in bottom half this weekend, everyone else, apart from Sunderland who drew, lost

We're staying up

If Rob hadn’t lost his first 7 games in charge we may have had a glimmer of hope.
We're objectively one of the worst three squads in the league and entirely deserve to go down (no problem with saying that) but it's also an entire collective failure of duty on all at the club - including both managers that we've had - that we're effectively 15 points from safety. We shouldn't be, we aren't *that* bad.

Absolutely, there are squads worse than this that have avoided relegation or even crept up to 15th.

In fact that Wilding Sheff U squad...wouldn't be difficult to argue we have better individuals than that did.

There are so many things that are so odd.

Like Rob going on about how he encouraged Jackson to use his pace and attack the LB at HT on Friday. Yeah, I mean great. But why didn't this happen the day he signed?!

Spurs going down would be hillarious I don’t care.

And before we start thinking about them getting 100 points, this is spurs. If anyone will fuck it up it’s them.

What even happens with that squad!? I want to find out tbh.
Be almost as entertaining seeing what happens with Forest’s squad. Based on their showing at Molineux there won’t be much of a queue for West Ham’s players other than Bowen.

From stuff I've seen Edwards has been trying to get him to do this stuff since he arrived, I think at times he's been barking at him from the touchline during the play. Fuck knows why its taken this long to get it in his head, hopefully he can carry in this vein.

just supposing Man City get the point deduction that's been mooted.. 60 odd points, ( I know.. they won't), and got relegated as a result.. imagine that for our chances next season
