Live Match Discussion 2025/26

The more I think about it, the more I think a "five replays" threshold is the way to go. That way you get rid of the stupid Abraham goal Villa got in the non-VAR FA Cup tie (one replay needed there) but you should keep delays down to a minute or two at best. And if you can't tell after that many then you're never going to tell.

Special rule if it's Ashley Barnes, use any technology necessary to deny that wanker anything nice.
Very much this.
Such a glaring contradiction that IFAB are looking to amend the rules for time wasting, so players are required to leave the pitch within 10 seconds for a substitution, yet they spent almost 9 minutes on 2 var checks.

And the length of time for throw ins...which is fine.

Desperately want Forest down, unlikeable players and owner. VP also takes a portion of the responsibility for allowing the signings that came here in the summer.
On another point Spurs look dreadful.

If it's a portion then it's the same size Big John has down at his local Chinese.

Spurs going down would be fucking hilarious.

Would be until next season starts and the league would just be the Tottenham Hotspur Championship.
It would be similar to us dropping to league one though. We sorted our act out very quickly and walked the league.

When I was a kid there was the Big 5. 2 Liverpool, 2 North London and Man U. The last one to go down was also Spurs in 1977.

Watching the big match revisited from the 80’s didn’t realise how much time Chelsea spent as a second tier club in that era.

I feel I deserve some karmic blame here for declaring Spurs + Frank legitimate title contenders and staking my life on Brentford being 20th by a distance without Frank.

If someone makes me a “TWF Village Idiot” shirt (with our crest wearing a dunce cap), I’ll wear the shit out of it. Seems fair.

They weren't seen as any bigger than us then. If anything we were seen as a larger club, certainly before the triple relegation. They were better known for their hooligans than their football team. Stamford Bridge was also a shithole.

Yeah, it was mid 90s when they went up a level. Hoddle didn't really do much as a manager for them (bar one cup final, where they got horsed) but he raised the profile and Bates started spending (well, he started spending Matthew Harding's money and then various banks' money). Bringing in Gullit, Di Matteo, Vialli and Zola was massive then.

And a used car lot behind the corner flag
