Live Match Discussion 2025/26

These games being chosen for the prime time viewing is annoying it’s a none contest but hey you’ve got to keep the super 6 happy.
Watching Rangers v Hearts as it’s more competitive

Wigan are shocking, I get there's a two league gap between them and Arsenal but some of the defending is absolutely embarrassing. Probably end up being 7 or 8.
Quite likely they go down to League Two, they are very poor regardless of opposition. Won three league games since mid-September and currently on a run of 2 points from 8 games.

Chermiti picked a good time to score his first hattrick.

Oooh get them and their many League victories
I'm just pleased they're reverting to their natural level. They were an absolute prick of a PL club, tiny crowds, fans that did go were dicks, continually dreadful pitch, employed Steve Bruce, Pegleg constantly sounding off.

Late now, but weren't Wigan the club that brought Nouha to England? Not that that necessarily mitigates the previously intimated emotions regarding them...

I would also score OGs to protest having Borthwick-Jackson as a CB partner

0 league appearances for them, they're getting no credit

No, wouldn't say they deserve that, just trying to remember.

I think they'll have a small place in my heart by virtue of being in the PL the first season I properly cared. How young I was...

Wigan have a small place for me to despise as they were voted into the league at the expense of Bath City in 1978 so they can get to fucking fuck. Bunch of cunts.

You know what I like most about you is that you never hold a grudge

Not really, they were elected in favour of Southport, who were already in the league

They picked second in the Northern Premier to contest the vote instead of the team that won the Southern League by a street even thoguh Boston won the northern premier. Ground was used as the excuse to stop Boston who won the northern prem but no excuse re bath as twerton park was by far the biggest in non league at the time and met all the spec

the league just wanted another northern team

So were West Brom and Blues
I'm sure I've said before that I don't have particularly negative emotions around either. West Brom has the Birdie Badge (shout outs to birdies) and Birmingham gave me one of my first proper "make an audible noise because of sport" moments in that (League?) Cup Final against Arsenal.

Both were on the final "shortlist" of clubs to support for me. I've been this person from day one. ;)

Probably because Wimbledon, Hereford, Cambridge and Peterborough were the previous four elected (in favour of Workington, Barrow, Bradford PA and Gateshead) so having a fifth Northern for Southern swap wouldn't look very good
