His Dad was one of many we should have signed in the 90s but went with others at much higher cost and much lower returnIt’s not his fault, poor guy, but if I ever met Windass I think I’d keel over laughing. What a fucking surname.
Was in my fantasy team at the time, regularly got M.O.M and the odd goal. Solid 7/8 out of 10 most weeks for a poor/struggling side. His Dad was one of many we should have signed in the 90s but went with others at much higher cost and much lower return
Seem to recall being linked with Magilton every few weeks for years, think he was the equivalent to wanting a commodore 64 after my mother had splashed out on a spectrum.I wanted Paul Simpson, Nathan Blake and Alex Rae years before we signed them and Ian Taylor, Neil Redfearn, David Johnson and Jim Magilton before we never signed them.
Also saw both Robbie Earle and Chris Coleman against us in Division Three and it was blindingly obvious even as a kid as I was back then that they were headed for bigger things.
Hindmarch and Blades, ugh, Shirtliff (who I'd not really heard of) was a massive upgrade for the time he was at Wolves. We really seemed to struggle around that time for CBsI suppose we'd only have hoofed it over his head, we basically didn't bother with central midfield for a decade or more.
Craig Short was another, could have had him for very little money off Notts County when we were busy messing around with the likes of Rob Hindmarch and Paul Blades.
Decent pundit, too.I wanted Paul Simpson, Nathan Blake and Alex Rae years before we signed them and Ian Taylor, Neil Redfearn, David Johnson and Jim Magilton before we never signed them.

I didn't understand at the time why we let Venus go (I wasn't very old so didn't know much about these things).I didn't mind Derek Mountfield too much and pre-injury Shane Westley was genuinely good (and the hardest man in the world) but Madden, Blades, Hindmarch and Stancliffe were all utter nonsense.
We should always have had Mark Venus at CH, wasted at LB (and I'm still annoyed that we fucking paid Ipswich to take him off us, what on earth are you doing. Bloody McGhee)
Not allowed on UK TV due to him allegedly selling his complimentary tickets for games whilst working for ITV.Decent pundit, too.
Shout outs to Jamaica.
Yeah Veno was a favourite of mine, could play LB, CB and defensive midfield, had a great left foot. Mountfield also I had a soft spot for, obviously he was 103 when he came here and his knees had gone but even so, still better than the tat you mentioned, classy CB in his pomp.I didn't mind Derek Mountfield too much and pre-injury Shane Westley was genuinely good (and the hardest man in the world) but Madden, Blades, Hindmarch and Stancliffe were all utter nonsense.
