Live Match Discussion 2024/25

That Man City game was genuinely treated like their cup final, it's a bit laughable. Now they're back down to earth.

They might have mocked him but I think Haaland's comments about staying humble were pretty valid... their celebrations after winning on Sunday encapsulated that. Since turning into title challengers in 22/23 they have literally won nothing and won't have come May either. Arsenal under Arteta need a serious reality check.

I utterly despise the club.

I never tire of reminding any Arsehole fan I come across they are illegitimately in the top division - 1919/20 they weren’t promoted (they finished 5th in 14/15 behind Barnsley and Wolves) yet they managed (ie very dodgy background) to get elected to the First Division.

Since Arsenal last won the PL Man City have won 8 and flown past the invincible points haul on 3 occasions. Not to mention a domestic treble and a CL. Yep say what you want about PSR charges but it still has to be won.
I’ve heard other clowns say Pep has been found out.
Yep easy to stick the knife in when they’re having a bad season.
You don’t win 4 PL titles on the spin, a domestic treble another treble with a CL in it by being a fraud.
He’s winning in the PL not a pub league either. If he’s a fraud it makes Klopp and Arteta as equal frauds.

Bang on. The 'stay humble' bullshit has really annoyed me - they're just a bunch of arseholes with Arsehole in Chief as a head coach.

We always have a side that particularly annoys us every season haven't we? And it's great. Usually though it's a rival.

We've had Villa I'm the promotion year, Brentford and Bournemouth at some point, Forest last season.

This year it feels like Arsenal are cunts of the year, which is at least one thing we've improved on!

Tbf Arsenal have always been cunts.

I actually enjoyed watching the Unbeatables, probably aided by the fact that they were stopping Chelsea or MU winning the league. Played some great football and didn’t have any particularly unlikeable players.

Yeah, I liked Arsenal when they were stopping Man U from dominating. Very different now though.

They're incredibly entitled.

United's fall from grace has been fantastic, for anyone growing up as a Wolves fan in the 90s with those plastics everywhere (In Kidderminster in my case, no less) it's just so fantastic seeing those samw 40 somethings pissing and moaning now - especially when we beat them, something I could never have dreamed of back then.

Yes, absolutely loathe and detest United and their entitled, plastic supporters. When I hear Londoners on the radio talking about their beloved United - aren't there enough teams in London FFS? Also the overkill media coverage of every little thing to do with them annoys me. I am not quite at that level with Arsenal but can't stand them either or Arteta, love seeing them fail in every competition they think they should be winning

As an aside, and probably the wrong thread, there was an annoying little twat sitting at a bar at The airport in Barbados shouting "get in" at the top of his voice every time they (Arsenal) scored causing a few anxious looks. Old enough to know better too, not some young kid.

Weren't the invincibles before Chelsea got their big money to become genuine title contenders? To my memory it was a bit of a two horse race between Arsenal and United at that point then Chelsea got bought by Abramovich and took over Arsenals title claims.

Arsenal behaved like arseholes in the lockdown win at our place when we were competing with them for European place and when they had a late victory against us when Lage was in charge at theirs. It isn’t a new thing for their OTT celebrations.

I think Arsene's peak team was one of my favourites to watch, it was just glorious. They always gave me 'good against evil' vibes, the purity of their football and some of the players were just artists. I reckon they were a lot of people's 2nd favourite team despite all the dark arts. And now they have people actively wanting Liverpool or Man City to win the league instead of them.

Definitely, I loved watching the invicible era team. They're just a bunch of wankers now - will never surpass Utd though for glory hunting wankers.

You need glory to have glory hunters😂

No. If Arsenal hadn’t won it that year Chelsea would have.

That was still Ranieri as manager, Abromovich bought them during the pre season. At that point they'd not won a league in nearly 50 years

Was quite sobering watching us field a back four of 82 year old Irwin, Pies Butler, Craddock when he was shite and Bloody Hell Naylor, and they brought on Hernan Crespo when they were already walking all over us.
