Maybe my eyes are busted, but Maidstone's yellow is miles away from Watford and Norwich's IMV.

Yep your eyes are playing tricks. I have my favourite shades but don't get too worked up about the colour we play in, however if we went for that colour, I'd be Glasgow levels of angry.

Well I like it, mainly cos I'm contrary.

Oh, you're not alone on that one. I never liked it (although the actual quality of the shirt was pretty good given it was own brand).

People going on about it being our traditional colour are way wide of the mark though. We wore it for about 20 years between the mid 1930s and mid 1950s.

Those who started watching us in the early 1960s (which would put you at very youngest around 70 now) would never have seen us wear it before August 2000.
