The fuck is Hudson-Odoi meant to be doing?! No Brentford player out there for him to be pulled away from the wall, not like he's opening up any sight line for the keeper or anything. Then just sort of flinches when Toney hits it even though it's nowhere near him.
My only guess is following the run outside if they try and do something clever.

The linesman's the only person outside him. 🤣
Nah Toney runs off an Collins uses his elite ball playing ability to slide Toney in (or vice versa). If Hudson Odoi isn’t there then Yates has to move and one of them has an even easier strike at goal.

It’s another awful gaffe from Turner that I just didn’t used to see from him. He looks shot mentally; maybe he’ll recover form as his career goes on but seems inarguable now that he wasn’t ready for this level and now I worry he never will be.

Shame, but I suppose GK has been a spot where Americans have been spoiled for a while (Friedel, Keller, Howard, even Hahnemann if you’re feeling wolf-y). Was always a matter of time before our presumed #1 wasn’t up to scratch anymore.

Just put Hudson-Odoi on the end of the wall, he can still do that fantasy job if needs be but actually provides something worthwhile too, standing a couple of yards away is a waste of everyone's time.

Just noticed Toney moved the ball nearly a yard to the right before taking his FK! No idea how much it mattered in the end.

I agree. I was clutching at straws. But arguably if Hudson Odoi is on the end and then moves off to follow a run then you are in the same situation where it is still a free dig.

The keeper has used Yates to set up the wall and somehow still put it arguably a man and half too far over

Give over... Toney cheated and moved the ball after Turner set his wall. Toney also moved the foam to make it look like the ball was in the right place to the ref who had his back turned.

A lot. It gave him just enough room to do what he did. Turner spotted it the first time Toney did it and then Toney did it again.

If I'm Yates, who is a gobshite anyway, I'm not giving Richard Keogh Eyes a say in the matter. I know it's wrong so fix it on your own.

Haven’t seen that, but that would make a massive difference at that range. Did the ref not put the foam down…

He did, Toney hilariously tried to pick some up and shovel it nearer the ball’s “new” position.

Matty reacted to something but there was a Brentford lad in the wall shouting back at him, so unsure if he saw it or not.

Up to the ref to manage that, it's smart football. Players try to move the ball for throw ins and free kicks every match all the time. It's gamesmanship not cheating

Mangala making me think about Balotelli for the first time in some years with that attempt.

That’s some cross. Dunno about the defending tho.
