The pace of the Liverpool Arsenal game is incredible. Really good watch.

You can really see the difference that Rice makes to Arsenal in these kind of games. Exactly the type of situation they would have crumbled in previously, he adds so much drive to their game and I lost count of how many times he won the ball back for Arsenal. Having Saliba fit isn't bad either, thought he was excellent.

Used to amaze me when many Wolves fans thought Neves was worth more than Rice. I love Neves but Rice is both quicker and stronger and exactly what Arsenal needed. Just wish Southgate would trust him and stop playing another deep midfielder alongside him as he really doesn’t need it.

At the start of his time with West Ham he wasn't all that.
Don't think West Ham fully knew what to do with him. He played at Molineux and looked confused if he got within 40 yards of the goal. Every pass was backwards or possession lost. There was a lot of hype around him but at that point could just not see it. A lot of Wolves fans views would have been based on that.

He progression since then though and certainly last season and now with Arsenal has been rapid.

Agree that game at Molineux probably influenced many opinions but every player has off days. Even last summer you’d hear the claim he wasn’t worth any more than Neves despite being outstanding for three seasons for both WH and England.

At that point Neves was the better PL player. Rice made a lot of mistakes in his early career and as Kenny said looked like a ch playing in midfield, he's also a couple of years younger. Clearly he's the better of the two now and has evolved into an all round midfielder.

Rice suffered with the young English (Irish?) up and coming tag, was way over rated initially. The guy has done fantastically since. The comparison to Neves is daft, they're different kinds of player for a start and Neves was better straight out the box, Rice's development has been meteoric.

Forest unable to get out of their own half, but that is a completely soft as shite penalty and should be overturned. The fact VAR looked at it for nearly two minutes says as much.

It's also an atrocious penalty, yet Michael Brown waxing lyrical like it's Panenka for Czechoslovakia in the 1976 Euros Final.

Yeah I knew they wouldn’t over turn it but is a soft penalty that
