Can you list the refs who don't make a compelling case for being the worst? I think it would be considerably shorter than the list for the ones who do.
I don't think Oliver or Taylor are that bad
Marriner actually looks alright...until he refs us. He shouldn't be in charge of our games. We managed to get him blocked for over five years before, why is he back
The Aussie fella looks alright
Tierney is generally ok

I can accept mistakes, I've seen Paolo Maldini make mistakes but he's still the greatest defender I've ever seen. The likes of Bankes/Coote are appalling every single time.

Steve Martin is the worst I've ever seen but thankfully he never made it to this level.

Jones, Coote, Bankes are atrocious.
Lee Mason took some beating.
Whoever was referee in home game v Cardiff in 2017 was utterly useless.
I always think Oliver is poor when we have him, Taylor and Tierney are the best I’ve seen out the current crop.

Your tolerance of them is far greater than mine. I find it very difficult to remember the last time I watched a game and thought 'this ref is really good'. Not many seem to do a very good job when reffing us.

I set myself very low expectations :D

The direct comparison we had in 2019/20 was stark. The Europa League referees were excellent apart from the berk who sent Jota off against Slovan (also VAR missed the keeper being off the line for Raul's penalty against Sevilla...but that's another question, we're on about on-field management) and so much better than anything we had domestically.

Oliver is the only one who comes to mind that doesn't elicit an immediate eyeroll from me.

I've been watching PSG v Reims as PSG were the last team in my acca today. Reims snatched a 1-1 in the 96th minute!!

PSG were rubbish. Just coasting through the game mainly. Their superstars on show (plus Vitinha ) barely made any impact on the game and Reims were well worth their point.

All of PSG's time wasting couldn't help as Balogun (on loan from Arsenal) scores with the last kick of the game. An awful header backwards in midfield under no pressure, just has to nod it down to a team-mate, and he over hits it straight to a Reims player who plays Balogan through PSG's high line, round the keeper and fires into the roof of the net. Absolutely awful stuff by PSG.

I mean, look at the state of this. Just keep the ball and see out the clock for another 30s and you've won FFS.

Willian still has a great turn of pace for a man of 34.

Fulham play some really tidy football at times too.

Chelsea still shite. All that money spent and still starting Gallagher, Mount and zero strikers.

Interesting that Dyche has gone with Tarkowski and Coady at the back.

Only one way to play with them, an ultra low block (as he did at Burnley, just swap Coady for Mee). Thing is Lampard did that early on this season and the defensive record was not too bad, but they had zero goal threat. So he opened up a bit and they started leaking goals horribly.

I'm not sure how you can balance that equation with that squad.

Looks like Dyche might do alright eh?
They look organised, as you would expect. I don't see where the goals are though, and they aren't in a position to draw their way to safety. If they do go 1-0 down here (they nearly just did) then they will lose.

I would not want him here but Dyche clearly isn't a rubbish manager. I'm not sure what he can realistically get out of this lot though.
