I think Lookman is one of those players (Lamptey possibly another and mentioned because he's also talked about on this thread) that look good in snippets on MOTD and make opposition fans think they'd be a great signing. He doesn't/they don't ever get the 'big' move that are mooted and despite regular loan spells (and one or two signings) under numerous mangers never quite convince any of them to give them an extended contract or run in the team.
Lookman I guess is the sort of player that gives you a ten game 'lift' [which I agree is possibly what we need this season] but is highly unlikely to be consistently good over 100 league games or three seasons.
I may be being harsh on Lamptey as he was playing well before his injury, but he never quite made it at Chelsea and despite supposedly having lots of suitors following his Brighton resurgence, no one actually took a chance on him. Brighton are a selling club so if any of the top sides in the PL wanted him he'd have gone.

Lamptey's hamstrings have gone - that's his main problem.

He was legit better than Salah, comparing their Roma careers.

I think the way players do or don’t fit a particular league often gets lost.

Fitting an individual team as much as a league is an issue, think it's becoming even more difficult to judge too as tactics become more nuanced a lot of players become more specialist and so it's doubly difficult to adapt. Couple that with the ridiculous finances in the game now, someone has half a good season and people are desperately throwing money around to snap them up before they miss out. No wonder there are so many failed transfers when you combine the two.

So he bagged double figures then?
I'd say the wording you chose would lend itself to multiple instances, for a singular occurrence I'd have opted for 'Gervinho once bagged double figures in Serie A' or 'Gervinho has bagged double figures in Serie A'.

Gervinho used to bag double figures in serie A.
Would agree that Serie A can be easy to score in for some players, i would have used Immobile really as he’s not very good but scores regularly. My point was that i liked Lookman a couple of years ago and he’s doing well now, would give us more of a goal threat. Also there’s a ton of good players in the league we would be lucky to have.

No VAR in the quarter finals but available for the semis.

United decide defending 2 v 3 is a good idea, bailed out by VAR.
