Watching the replay, its cannot be the first contact, its him moving his arm towards the ball to make the 2nd. So an odd one, as that 2nd contact is handball but it doesn't deny a goal. So if the decision is based on the first contact, then its a bullshit decision

He watched one freeze frame for about 2 seconds then made his mind up.

And those saying he deliberately swiped the ball away get real. Get anyone to knock your bicep in that position and see what your arm naturally does.

Having said all this what on Earth is Alonso doing in that scramble?

It definitely looks like James swipes his arm on to the ball once it's already hit his thigh and hand but i don't think you can 100% say that he definitely did. Even if they could prove it i also then don't think they can prove the swipe stopped the ball going in as it looked like he'd already stopped it. It all seemed a bit of a mess but Chelsea seem to have been hard done by in some way.

Still fuming about that, I think Stowelly got knocked out
Proper on delay here, but yeah Wilkinson elbowed him, the cunt, and likewise i am still annoyed too, one of the many injustices in that era, along with Freedman's goal for Palace at Selhurst in the playoffs being offside, Bull getting sent off for fuck all against Oldham, Howey crocking Thomas and Scott Taylor killing Froggatt.

Oh and the obvious McGinley chinning Kelly and not getting sent off.

That Palace third goal is still haunting, linesman had his flag but referee over ruled it for some bizarre reason.

And that ginger CB (his name escapes me) for Palace got in the face of Jamie Smith after that goal (presumably because of Smith's joyous celebration), god knows how Smith didn't nut him.

Grr, i need a lie down.

Hopkin? CM

I sort of think like other penalty calls ought to be made with a view of the individual incident, if a genuine attempt was made to win the ball a player isn't sent off IIRC? (Luiz was deemed to not make a genuine attempt down here?)

Current rules its a sending off but think there should be leeway for a fairly big ricochet on the line as opposed to that Bournemouth twat saving the ball at Norwich a year or two back.

My go-to piss boiler is Danny Mills assaulting Lee Naylor in the early 2000s, hated the bloke since then
I was at that game. Mendieta effectively took the free kick as it was happening, scandalous. At least Mills had his comeuppance the next time he played at Molineux, never have i seen a player more clearly rattled by fans than he was.

Also the game (Boro away) that had the worst shot i've ever seen (even worse than Mo Camara against Blues), Joey Gudjohnson managed to put the ball on top of the stand that is about the same size as the South Bank, presumably the ball is still there.

I've rarely seen a more toxic home atmosphere for a player than Mills in the return fixture.

I’ve never seen a crowd get to a player like it. He ended up being subbed as he was so rattled he could barely control or pass the ball.

Lee Hughes maybe. Remember him never scoring against us in the BCD except one penalty and the 3-1 when Ndah scored two he properly lost it and should've walked after nutting Pollett unprovoked.

Fuck me Spurs are dull to watch, walking football..Watford much better and more exciting so far

Ashley Barnes is a fucking stain on the game. Total thug.
