Yes, because there was a week between ties so couldn't reschedule. I'd prefer postponements to cancellations if possible, but it should be consistent either way

I don't know when they're fitting this rearranged game in. Shrewsbury surely aren't going to be able to play in a couple of days? Southampton are playing Leeds on the 20th. Shrewsbury and Southampton are both playing on the 26th. There aren't any free midweeks until we get into February, and the Fourth Round is the weekend of the 23rd Jan.

Fixture pile-ups are going to become a massive issue fairly soon. Accrington for instance played last night, was their first game since 19 December due to a mix of Covid/weather postponements. Villa could be four games behind most teams in the Premier League depending what happens this week.

Looking at the FA statement they haven't said it's going to be rearranged as I thought just that they'll make a decision next week. If it is then cancelled in Southampton's favour then the U23's route makes sense
