In the short term the transfer has done neither us, Spurs or the player any favours. He's a liability at full back and whomever scouted him for Spurs as an improvement over Aurier was guilty of extreme negligence.

Can't speak for others but if I comment on Doc it is more out of amazement of how they use him. Nuno transformed him but it still amazes me that someone thought signing him to play in a back 4 would work and now Jose is having to go back to a terrible player ahead of him. I thought it would be a Steve Bruce type that would sign him and play him in a system he can't, not Jose.

Will never have a pop at him for how he played for us under Nuno.

its the nature of a forum I'm afraid, I think people mention it as a counterpoint to the people moaning about us spending a net 15 mill and getting a worse player in Semedo

But he wasn't a good player under Saunders, Jackett, Zenga or Lambert, and that was one or two levels below where he is now...and they are playing him where those managers did (well not at LB, flip a coin whether he was worse there or on the right).

He hasn't played regularly at club level as a RB in a four since 2014, he never ever ever looked even adequate there in the Football League, it's madness.

I don't think it ever has been! Not in my time anyway.

Sure, City were shit in the 90s and a bit of an irrelevance but Liverpool has always been way bigger than Leeds. The other way round, sure, Leeds seem to care more about United than the other Yorkshire clubs.

Offsides are not judged on that though. Simple black and white...is it on or off. They have of course taken it to the extreme with the levels they go to to prove it is off.

Would love to know what multiple managers somehow see in Harry Winks. Slow, doesn't create, doesn't score, can't tackle, no range of passing, no athleticism, not good in the air, what is he there for? He'd look right at home in our 1990s midfields.
