Live Match Discussion 2018/19

If anyone cares, then as things stand a win next week qualifies us for the final

I think we still go through with a win.

Spain 7
England 4
Croatia 2

We win and we win the group on H2H.

All moot if Spain score again, in that case we just need to avoid defeat to stay up.

Ah, I was working on GD.

Edit: Ignore me, I can't count.

Have a second go at it.

Croatia win tonight would leave it:

Spain 6
England 4
Croatia 4

Croatia would relegate us with a score draw or a win (if they won then they would win the group).

A 0-0 would relegate Croatia on GD.

A win would have us topping the group.

Spain can't go down whatever happens.

According to the current standings table, a draw for us with Croats will see Spain top. Unless I'm reading it wrong.

If Spain draw tonight they will finish on 7 points.

We also get to 7 if we win on Sunday and irrespective of margin, if we do then we win the group on H2H.

It still means everything is in England's hands. Just got to win the game basically.

Incredibly Ireland vs Northern Ireland was 0-0. I never saw that coming.

I can forgive the latter as they have a tiny player pool and loads of their Euro 2016 lot are getting seriously old now. But the Republic - given what they're paying O'Neill and Keane - are unspeakably grim.

There's a few Irish over here actually wanting Ireland to lose they are so sick of O'Neills boring, defeatist football.
Grim is an accurate description. Lucky not to lose tonight, second best apparently.
