Yep I’m no Eddie Howe fan but there’s a reason why he’s not first choice in the PL. Think people rapidly forget the step up in class between the two divisions.
If Mings is that good then it makes Howe look an absolute clown.

Thought villa got a bit lucky yesterday.
Derby start to get on top, get a goal and then Mings gets injured.
That delay killed Derby's momentum and gave Villa time to reorganise.
Twas like us against Leicester away, we were on top, Maddison went down (easily) and Puel got his players together for long enough to reorganise them.

I thought they were worthy winners TBH - Derby had too many supposed quality players who didn't show up.

Villa will be fine next season. They don't have the same quality as we did 12 months ago but I think their financial backing will allow them to recruit enough decent players to stay in the league. It'll be interesting to see how Dean Smith fares as a PL coach.

Fair play to Villa, and I think they'll make a decent fist of the Prem next year.

They aren't as well set up as we were when we came up, but there's a pile of dross in this league that they should do better than, even with the necessary rebuilding job.

They're the reason (along with Bruce) why I didn't want them to go up last season, and although I wanted Derby to win yesterday, I don't feel quite so bad about them joining us in the top flight now those bozos are out of the picture. They're an embarrassment.

Because Sparta Prague go into the group stage so there is one fewer side with a higher coefficient in the playoff stage where we are right on the cusp of being seeded or not. If Chelsea win tonight and Rapid Vienna win the Austrian playoff by my calculations we won't be seeded and could get Roma, Eintracht Frankfurt, etc etc.
