Live Match Discussion 2018/19

Might be getting close for Jose to finally check out of the hotel he has been living in for the last 2 years #Partridgelite

Probably hasn’t got a secret draw tho

Fucking hell they’re bad. We’ll have every chance against these. Dread to think how they’ll fare in Europe.

About 690 million spent purely in transfer fees since Fergie left as of right now and more than half by Mourinho. Easy to belittle achievements when you have so much money to spend but just look at the state of this. Complete and utter failure.

Not quite tonight but they've regularly had a back five of De Gea-Valencia-Smalling-Jones-Young. All Fergie signings. He left in 2013. Tells its own story about recruitment.

Jones injured. Bad news for Spurs

Fellaini coming on....wonder what the tactics will be?

United spent £35m on Lindelof right?

This reminds me of our second half vs Barnsley under Zenga.

Like I said, half of there defenders are shit.

Just done a rough working out. Ignoring add-ons Mou has pretty much spent £360m all by himself. This is ignoring 'bargains' on a free like Ibra and Alexis, the latter being the most highly paid Prem player at £315,000 a week. 3 of the top 5 highest paid players actually play for United right now, the other two being Pogba at #3 (£290,000 a week) and Lukaku at #5 (£250,000). Is quite amazing. They actually had 5 of the top 8 during Mou's first season, Pogba, Rooney, Ibra, Schweinsteiger, and De Gea were all taking £200,000+. Tempted to write something on just how bad their recruitment and overall spending has been, it's astounding.

Neves is on £50,000 a week now is he? That's mad when you realise Pogba is on £290,000 a week and Fred is on £175,000. No idea what Moutinho is on but it can't be close to that.

Zidane will be in there before the season is over.

Sounds ridiculous to say about someone who's won three straight Champions Leagues but I don't think anyone actually knows whether he's a good manager or not. 80%+ of their first choice XI during his time there was already at the club way before he arrived, never did anything revolutionary tactics-wise, just sorted out the man management side of things (which is what did for Benitez, as he's rubbish at that) and let Ronaldo go and do his thing.

Don't see point in bringing Fellaini on and then not playing route one to him. It's literally his only use

I think the same thing, you don't actually know yet. Zidane never significantly improved on the side in terms of transfers made (only major buys were Morata who was sold to Chelsea a year later and Theo Hernandez) or players he made any better. He just knew how to get the players he had playing at their best in a system they were already familiar with.

I know what you mean but could that work at United? It's not like they're void of any quality at all, they've got players who could be good but are just stifled by Mou. Admittedly, that defence does need a lot of work to it, it's just whether he'd be trusted to bring in players he wants or whether Woodward would just sign whoever.

3-0. Just way too easy against this defence

Stunning. His performance deserved that.

Great play by Moura. Shocking defending though.
