Live Match Discussion 2018/19

That miss was criminal, totally free header about eight yards out.

Is that really as horrendous decision as Hincliffe is making out? He gets the ball but follows through and brings Alonso down whilst he can still have a shot.

Looked like a good tackle and as long as a follow through isn’t dangerous not sure that is a problem. Would have to see it again though.

EDIT: watched it again. He touches the ball but he doesn’t exactly “win it”. If he puts it in the stand, stops it dead or clears it then the follow through probably doesn’t matter. But as the ball is still playable and he takes him down then there’s a decision to make. Livid if it’s against you, right decision if it’s for you. I’ll edge towards right decision

Pretty much my view, reading through Twitter you’d think it was a howler which it isn’t it’s debatable but not a terrible decision.

On another note hypocrisy of Newcastle fans, if BFS had set up like that in his reign he’d have lambasted but it’s ok for he who can do no wrong Rafa.

Rafa’s been lambasted by every man and his dog over yesterday’s tactics and rightly so, they never gave Chelsea any trouble at all which is criminal at home. Even Jamie Redknapp used the ‘look at Wolves’ comparison on how to play against a top team at home.

Are we really surprised at Rafa's tactics, they did the same against City last season at home. Its pure cowardice.

MNF are going to be looking at how we set up v City and Newcastle v Chelsea

I shall turn it over now then. Nice one for the head's up.

What sort of lineup is that for Utd??

Looks a very narrow defensive one. Highly unlike Jose...

I thought 433 with Pogba on the left but apparently Matic in a back three with Jones and Smalling according to some.

Could easily be copying Nuno.

This is so fucking good to watch.

Scout report for West Ham though...

Won't play that way against them.

Excellent illustration of how we defended and attacked as a unit (inside the space of a couple of seconds) but for a start we will have a back three on Saturday, not a back five.

Really interesting piece on ours and Newcastles approach and the slight differences.

Looks a really negative selection from Jose, not sure what the plan is apart from being solid defensively

Good watch. Think they missed the point a little by saying we looked more like scoring but also more like conceding. Man City have a better team with better individual quality and are more familiar in the system.
Chelsea have a new manager, new system, new players and they aren’t as good.

“Hit the post 3 times” is also a bit misleading. One was a save and one a set piece. Also reckon a combination of Rui and Bennett had the scoring angle covered from the other.

Lukaku's right peg is dreadful. How do you miss?

Really shouldn’t be missing those, plank. Suicidal from Rose as well.
