Live Match Discussion 2018/19

Finally given, took far too long on VAR. Nearly 4 minutes

Whole of the ball

Precisely. It's like when people look at one of Moutinho's corners from a camera angle behind the player and claim the ball is outside the quadrant as they can see grass between line and bottom of the ball. It's a sphere FFS.

Imagine being in the ground for those 4 minutes. Fucking nonsense.

This is why VAR doesn't work because those using it are fucking imbeciles. You don't need 300 looks to see that you can't definitely say the ball is out and therefore you have to give the goal. Right decision made but it took far too long.

Tadic deserved that goal and what a finish, been world class tonight.

Better to take long than allow / disallow goals based on quick looks. Meaning, better use it for real than for looks.

The 3 minutes or whatever shall be given at the end.

Also, refs will take a bit of time getting used to these technologies.

Real just scored, without that goal it would be 3-3 aggregate.

Imagine just missing an CL qualification for a wrongly disallowed goal. This can be worth millions. MILLIONS.

EDIT: 4-1

Take two looks from two angles. If it isn't obviously wrong from that, then stick with the on-field decision as you haven't got a clear and obvious mistake to correct.

4-1!

I'll assume he meant it...

Everyone's favourite former ref Dermot Gallagher claimed on the Monday Night Club last night that by the start of the next season our VAR boys will have sorted everything out.....
Also, former Wolf Scotty Malone puts Derby 2-1 up.

That HAS to be it done and dusted.

Solari sacked in the morning I guess.

Hopefully they'll blame Ramos for getting himself deliberately suspended for the second leg. Most likely It'll all be Gareth Bale's fault instead.

I get that it's an important goal but they were looking at the same replay over and over. I could tell you after 2 looks that i couldn't be 100% and i could look at it all year and still not be 100% therefore you have to go with the referee's decision. Doesn't need to take 4 minutes.

They'll never blame Ramos for anything. He is SUCH a cunt but a very popular one with the Merengues.

Bale will now be gone in the summer for certain. Calderon's rather terse reply to Bale's agent tells you everything.

It's the delightful Marcelo I am enjoying watching.

They have more camera angles than the TV guys, which had only two, and they have to be absolutely sure.

Could also be the first times some of these refs are using the system, which will make them check, double check and triple check everything. Nobody wants to be on the wrong side of a ref decision in a UCL game of this magnitude. The chorus of "bought by Real" are... real.

There are some wonderful players in that Madrid line-up. Absolute joys.

But there are some fairly dreadful sportsmen.

Ironic that Courtois needed to be an inch taller to get to that free kick after his comments about Pickford. Karmas a bitch

They have to be absolutely sure it is an error to overrule.

If the camera is inconclusive then looking at it for another 180 seconds doesn't change the outcome.

It's over for this Real squad, they've been woeful all season. Teams get stale and they haven't moved on.
