Live Match Discussion 2018/19

It's relevant in terms of the magnitude of the embarrassment, though, surely.

So people won't care about being ignored as long as it doesn't happen on live TV?

I think that has a huge amount of impact on the offense.

I don't think, though, that Kepa would have any issues finding work at another big club, though.

I definitely think the optics of watching it unfold live make it seem worse

this is a terrible example (but the first that came to mind)... when an NFL player gets accused of hitting his girlfriend, people get mad. but if the video if him sucker punching her unconscious in an elevator comes out, it's 10x worse

I'm not necessarily saying that the general situation for Kepa would be different if it were lower key, but lets not pretend that optics don't play a role in the court of public opinion.

as we both agreed earlier though, even so, nothing long-term will come of it. other than the situation being brought up as a "hey remember when..." on discussion panels.

Kepa has said his intention was to tell Sarri he wasn't injured and able to play on, which to me makes sense given how rare it is for goalkeepers to be subbed. If Sarri was doing this to bring on a specialist penalty saving GK then he really should've communicated this prior to the match.

Lee Bowyer and Kieron Dyer fought on the pitch with one another, then both got bought by West Ham.

Worth pointing out that Dyer was cleared of any blame for that incident once Souness looked back at the incident and spoke to both players.

Just finished Dyer's autobiography - a decent read.

Some shambolic defending on display in the East Midlands derby so far. Somehow still only 1-0 to Forest.

Frank Lampard’s Derby doing the same as every other Derby team and falling apart in the second half of the season. Only 3 wins In 11 before today and losing already.

No one wants that last play off place. Bristol got themselves in the driving seat but will be funny if their season falls apart too

Guedioura on for Forest, 20 minutes for him to hammer at least one into the top corner? Or more likely the back of the stand?

An overhead kick there but hardly CR7 standards, more JG12

Celtic have just kicked off and their fans have not been messing about when it comes to Brendan Rodgers.

They unfurl two huge banners - one which reads 'You traded immortality for mediocrity' and one which reads 'Never a Celt, always a fraud.'

Immortality... :icon_lol:

Another three Liverpool goals and we go seventh having lost to bloody Huddersfield!!

Josh King booked for diving. Definitely not something they actively encourage though, absolutely not...

Southampton 2 Fulham 0.

That is Flum and Huddersfield gone for me. Only one relegation place in play over the last ten matches.

Southampton will just about have enough I reckon. Straight fight between Cardiff and Brighton and despite Brighton's dire run, they've got favourable remaining home fixtures so should see it out.

Knocked them up quick.

Wonder what Wetspam were thinking with that arm sponsor (apart from £££)
Makes the strip look like a villa top!

Quelle surprise...

YELLOW CARD
Arsenal 2-1 Bournemouth
Joshua King gets booked for simulation after trying to win a penalty. Laurent Koscielny just stands his ground and King throws himself on the floor.

THOROUGHLY enjoying seeing Bournemouth getting absolutely fucking smashed up tonight. Long may it continue.
