LIVE! Match discussion 2014/15

Gomis has all the mobility of a fridge. He's a very poor focal point for Swansea's attack.

Whenever Darron Gibson makes a PL appearance there's a part of my mind that just screams 'How?'. Such a gutless coward of a footballer down here.

He looks a completely different player at Everton to the one at Man Utd and us. So strange, but Everton fans like him a lot (when he's fit)

Tony Pulis really is a managing god! He has got 2 goals in 2 games from Ideye Brown.

He wasn't all that bad before he moved to England so I suppose he's got it in him. Just a matter of squeezing it out.

As much as I don'r rate LvG you have to give him credit for getting Man Utd third despite playing awfully almost all season.

I can't give him any credit for that at all. It's not at all by his doing.

He's benefited massively from Liverpool and Arsenal having horrible starts to the season. Spurs are picking up now too and look a big threat.

He's achieved no more than Moyes despite smashing £150m and having no Champions League games to worry about.

He's an absolute fraud.

Looking at his CV, he's had good success in the Eredivisie with Ajax and AZ, then mild success in his first stint at Barcelona (back-to-back Liga titles), and then done fuck all but piss off players (Rivaldo, Toni) everywhere else.

Pardon, turns out he won the domestic double at Bayern as well.

He did nothing more than meet minimum achievements at Barca and Bayern, pissing everyone off in the process, then it all came crumbling down. Trades hugely off his Ajax team and he left them 20 years ago.

Pretty easy as well to argue that his Ajax success was predicated by his players more than anything. Patrick Kluivert, Marc Overmars, Dennis Bergkamp, Frank and Ronald de Boer, Edgar Davids, Clarence Seedorf, Winston Bogarde, Michael Reiziger, and Edwin van der Sar. Quite a list. You'd have to be remarkably bad to screw that up.

He had to have the bottle to bring them all through at the same time, same as Fergie when he ditched Ince/Hughes/Kanchelskis for Beckham/Scholes et al. But when they're that good it isn't that hard a decision.

Well for all his failings I don't think anyone can accuse van Gaal of lacking confidence in his decisions.

The way he reacts to his peers and the media reminds me of Rafa Benitez. And that isn't a good thing. I think he's a ridiculously overrated manager who has spent a disgusting amount of money on players who should be performing better than they are.

I agree with Nando - he's a fraud.

How come when we employed a fraud we got relegated to League 1. United do it and they are chasing a Champs League spot. Not fair

Same as Albion. Employ Pepe Connor and Alan Saunders, probably won't materially cost them. Spawny bastards.

If they showed even a slight notion of improvement my criticism wouldn't be as strong, but they're getting worse and he seems oblivious to it.

I think I actually prefer Rafa and that's a damning indictment of his spell over here so far.

Bayern 8-0 HSV

Leverkusen 4-4 Wolfsburg (was 0-3 at HT)

Wolfsburg win it 5-4 at the death, Dost with his fourth goal of the match.
