Balotelli scores pen, Sturridge throws his toys out of the pram. Didn't even congratulate him.

Balotelli scores for Liverpool, but Sturridge was far from happy that Balotelli took the penalty.

Gerrard obviously not happy with Mario but he should be on that pen over the others on the pitch.

True, they all should know before the game if Balotelli is on the pitch he takes it every time.

I've just caught up on this. Does Henderson really think he should take the penalty over Balotelli (one of the few things the guy is genuinely good at)? If so, he is either deluded or selfish.

I think from what Gerrard said, that Rodgers put the sheet up before the game and Henderson was on pens.

Sturridge really does think he is better than he is. His strop at not having the penalty (made worse than it appearing that he was 2nd choice at best), plus his constant holding onto the ball too long & trying to do it all himself (& running into trouble) is gonna have consequences.

He's not a team player. He's good, but not that good.
I'd not start him in an England team til he improved that attitude.

He's definitely a greedy git. Never passes unless he has to.

Seemed more like he was trying to argue Henderson's case for the penalty rather than his own from what I saw, apparently captain fantastic had been the pre-match choice should a penalty be awarded, more irked at Ballotelli for breaking rank rather than not getting the penalty himself.

He is pretty selfish when given half a a sniff at a goal, then again plenty of other forwards have had that mindset over the years, I think i'd still take him over Rooney for England at the moment, just think he offers a bit more threat as it stands.

And I'd take Kane over them the pair of them as it stands!

Sturridge and Henderson were the worst players in Liverpool shirts last night. I was really impressed with Can, Ibe, Mereno and Coutinho. Very impressive.

Ibe has looked good whenever i've seen him, never flustered, very positive with the ball, looks promising.

I only saw the last 15 minutes or so last night but Can seemed to be very sloppy in possession in that time, especially in the closing stages with Liverpool leading he seemed very nervous trying to just hold onto the ball and see the game out. He's played very well in some recent games though.

I thought for an English club thats one of the best displays of how to play with 3 at the back due to the forward players denying their opponents time on the ball which then prevented them from hitting the space Liverpool had left exposed.
