Poor result yesterday notwithstanding, Dyche is showing that if you organise a team properly, make sure they actually carry some kind of attacking threat and be certain that they are performing to their absolute maximum - Burnley routinely outrun everyone in the league, you can't teach skill but you can teach fit young athletes to work hard - you can punch above your weight. Lambert is having Villa punch well below their weight.

No money is such a red herring, how much are Senderos and Joe Cole costing them a week? "Free" signings in the summer but must be eating £60-70k a week minimum out of the wage budget. One has always been shit and one sadly was finished some time ago for all his natural ability. He didn't have to sign them, why aren't they picking up the likes of Austin, Ings, Rodriguez, Cresswell etc before they make it big? Smacks of weak, lazy scouting.

He has two modes - ultra-defensive $#@! for the eyes and hope to play on the counter, or sterile possession bollocks which leads nowhere and makes them look like an even worse version of a Poyet team. Must be appalling to watch every week. I must have seen them play 15-20 times over the last couple of years and they have almost always been abysmal.

Which is quite weird, as his Norwich side was all about scoring more goals than the opposition, with pass and move football. It's not like he's Chris hugh ton and only knows how to set up defensively.

Oh yeah, when Mick's time was coming to an end here Lambert was right near the top of my list of replacements (before we left it too late and it was apparent we were going to struggle badly to retain PL status while Norwich were already all but safe, so he wouldn't have come). Bizarre how he has devolved into the entertainment vacuum that he is now.

Never sure what to think of Gary Monk's Swansea. I like Jay Fulton though, he's settled well in the Premier League, already looks a much better player than he was at Falkirk.
