There's no purpose to Liverpool's play whatsoever. It's a matter of time until they concede a second as things stand.

What is up with Liverpool. They have just not played with any kind of cohesion. Basle could and possibly should be 2 or 3 goals up.

This is how they've played all season. I didn't fancy them in this group before it even started and they're lucky to have four points as opposed to the one or two that they probably deserve from the Ludogorets games.

The manager is a tactical pygmy and always has been.

Bloody amazing goal from ramsey

Their first two were decent as well, a good run through the middle from Ramsey lead to the first, rolling it out to Podolski who rocketed one in the top near corner then Oxlaide-Chamberlain did similar legwork to lay one on for Ramsey in a similar position but he rolled his across into the far corner.

Podolski needs to pay more often. Love watching arsenal like this, it's how football should be, much better than that shite on itv

Wenger doesn't fancy him as a lone striker, they rarely set up with two out and out strikers (since Giroud came back he's put Alexis and Welbeck wide in the same shape as they always play) and playing on the left he offers nothing defensively and nor does he create, he's just a hard shot and nothing else. But none of this is news which makes you wonder why he ever bought him in the first place.

I'd pay him up front with welbeck, or at least try it. He's hardly had a consistent run since they bought him, but you're right he's really not a Wenger type player

Losing 1-0...need to win....take off a striker for a winger and swap your left backs. And leave all of Henderson, Allen and Lucas on the pitch.

Awful.

Has Rodgers really just stuck Gerrard in a cliche alert false nine position?

Good to see Gundogan playing again, makes things look so effortless.

Dortmund looking a bit more like their old selves at times when they raise the tempo but spend a bit too much time dawdling around in midfield still, really missing the cutting edge of Lewandowski and Reus though, Mkhitaryan couldn't score in a brothel bless him and Immobile just looks bereft of confidence.

They looked better on Friday night, not great but at least resembling a Klopp team again. Is Langerak in goal again?

Back to Liverpool for a second, why did Rodgers identify Lallana as his #1 target if he wasn't going to be starting these kind of games? It's all such a muddle. You certainly wouldn't give him any more money given his transfer record, only Sturridge (very injury prone) and Coutinho (now not in the team) are successes out of hundreds of millions of pounds spent.

At least Liverpool have increased the tempo. They look much better in the first ten minutes of the second half.

Top impact by Markovic :icon_lol:

That'll be Liverpool done and dusted. Marko sent off.

What on Earth is he doing there? Ridiculous.
